When I played this game, I thought it was pretty impressive. Too bad it came in later when the FPS market was already saturated.
Anyone ever play it? What are your thoughts of it?

I have it on XBOX and was never really impressed. Prolly cause of all the hype. And no red blood. Boo.
Good but nothing mad. I remember reading reviews of how it was fantastic with good surround sound or something. Aged badly I'd say.
Black was a good game... way over anticipated and nowhere near as good as many say, but actually, I would say it has aged rather well. Not that it has really aged all that long though.
I really like it. When I bought it I really didn't know much about the FPS market at the time- what was popular and what was available, because I was pretty much an rpg guy then. Ened up getting it just based on the youtube vids. Along with SotC its one of the prettiest games on the PS2 for sure, but I also thought it was well thought out and very engaging. KZ2 makes me think of Black. Pretty much a straight forward shooter, but it does what it does very well. Plus it can take half a clip of ammo to take down one guy. I remember there being some very intense firefights in the game. My only criticism was for all the graphic realism there was no blood. I don't chunks of gore a la Lucio Fulci to enjoy a game, but c'mon. To anyone who thinks the story sucks- I agree. I just don't play FPSs for their winning narrative. If its there great, if its not oh well.
BTW looking forward to Bodycount. Stuart Black is the man.
I remember seeing the screen shots and some videos of the game play before the release, and I was pretty pumped when it was released and I picked up a copy of it. I enjoyed the style of the game, esp all of the destruction. I really liked the feel of each of the guns in the game, and I thought the gameplay itself was pretty solid.
I enjoyed my first play through of the game, and I went back a few times to play missions on harder difficulty. A month after i bought the game though, I never picked it up and played it again
I remember being blown away by the graphics, then going back a few months later and feeling very meh about it
I loved that game. Must have played it through three or four times, which is rare for me. It was just fun. The Naszran Foundry mission was easily one of my favorite FPS levels of all time along with Half Life's 'Surface Tension' level and Timesplitters 2's 'Siberia'.
yeah i remember hearing it was good, but never got around to it. maybe someday i'll find it for ps2 or xbox for like $5 and pick up a copy :-)
