I've only played the first which I thought was solid, but I'd like to play one of the improved sequels.

Only thing is, I'm not a fan of the Desmond sequences, feels like I'm being sucked out of the game. So which game has the fewest of these?

Revelations. Theres quite a bit of Desmond gameplay, but most of it is optional.

Yup, REV it is.

Brotherhood as well is good in this portion has a major part with him at the beginning, but afterwards you can stay with Ezio as much as you like until the final events of the game.

II also has only the start and one sequence in the middle of the story where you have to play as him.

So I guess you can take any of those, they ALL have WAY less Desmond scenes than 1, seems like Ubisoft thaught as well it's a bit too boring to play that much with him.

The least amount? I'd say the first.

Not really, in Assassin's Creed 1 you exit out of the Animus every time you complete a Chapter and has to talk to Dr Vidic (sometimes Optional) anyway i'd say Assassin's Creed Brotherhood since Exiting the Animus is completely Optional, you only use Desmond on the start and the last part of the game.

They all have lots of Desmond. Brotherhood has it minimal.

I don't think you have to worry about the Desmond gameplay because it's a lot different in the sequals than it is in the first and it goes well with the gameplay, it's great and plays pretty big importance on the story.

I would say play 2 before jumping into brotherhood or rev...2 is better than both anyway, although all are great imo.

Revelations has the least Desmond gameplay, but only because it's optional, so maybe you want to try that? It's a good idea too, since the Desmond sequences are the worst in Revelations, IMO.

In AC2 there are some segments where you play as Desmond, but it's not every often. AC Brotherhood has some more game play with him as you run around the town every night. Haven't played Revelations yet so I can't comment on that.

It is Revelations no question. You barely have to do anything with Desmond if you don't want to.

If you want to play and enjoy the series, you are going to have to tolerate, or learn to like Desmond. He is the central pillar of everything in the story.

You only play as Desmond for 5 minutes in the beginning of II, 5 minutes in the middle, and then 5 minutes at the end.

In the sequals, Desmond gameplay is like his ancestors.

He's right. You can exit out of the Animus and explore Ezio's old base of operations and finding artifacts. Getting one of them leads to an achievement/trophy, if I remember correctly.

That's what I meant. He let it sound as if it's AC I all over again.
