Hey gamers,

Just a quick question about gamespot pdf guides.

A couple of months ago, I was Happily downloading pdf guides to my hearts content. Now, when i go to download a guide, it tells me that i have to be a gamespot plus member for access to PDF guides.

Why have gamespot started charging?

I think that has been the case for a good while now. Anybody could access the guides online, but you needed to be a subscriber to download them.

I'm still relativley new here, but it's to my understanding that while the online guide has always been free, the downloadable PDF has always (or at least, was supposed to) require a GameSpot Plus account. Sorry for any confusion.

The PDFs of game guides are usually a perk for our Total Access users. From time to time, an advertiser will sponsor the game guides, making the PDFs free for all users for a period of time, usually a month. You probably were accessing during a period when the PDFs were sponsored. Hope that clears things up for you!
