Replace /events/ps3launchUK/ in the URL with /pages/ and it should work. You'll need to right-click the link and copy the URL. Same applies to threads within the forum, posting replies, etc. The process works but it's so tedious that it's probably best to wait for them to fix it before posting in the forum.
Which takes me to the homepage. Same scenario if I try to click on the link for recent topic beneath the forum title.

Where does this link take you? http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_topics.php?board_id=909102863 takes me to the ps3 forum but as soon as i click a topic it takes me to the homepage again

It still exists, simply the tagline for the forum is incorrect, as clicking on any of the threads, again, has the same URL location, in regards to that UK launch business, and takes me back to the homepage again.
I ran into this too- every link for the PlayStation 3 forum has that events/uklaunch/ stuck in there for whatever reason. i was able to do some looking around by pasting the link in the address bar and just delete that but it gets annoying quick. Sooner it can be fixed the better.
For those that are still getting the redirect, go here: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_topics.php?board_id=909102863 and hold down Shift while refreshing the page. Your browser may be caching the old links which would keep sending you to the wrong page, and Shift-refresh will pull up a fresh copy of the page.
Sorry to keep spamming this thread, but I figure more communication is better than less... We found a problem with some of our fixes not reaching all the servers (essentially), which Teivan is addressing now. I will update again when it is complete.

ah its finally workin for me, with vinces tip of holdin shift, kept doin it till it worked, nearly killed my comp from taht ad/background loadin over and over again but hey it works
The server fix should already be in place, but I'd like for this thread to remain open for a while in case there are any other issues like this. Again, sorry about the redirection problem, that was totally unintentional.
