Avatar not working

When I click to upload an image, the screen will darken as if it is doing something, but won't do anything past that. Any help is appreciated, ty in advance

Ya I did some reading and as it turns out, I was using internet explorer. So when I changed it to Chrome it worked fine, thank you for your response though

just use chrome to upload pictures, and then you can switch back to IE if you wish.
