If you like arcade racing, this is probably one of the best that you'll ever find as one of a kind.

User Rating: 8 | Formula Retro Racing: World Tour NS

The good: A variety of tracks from around the world is well simplified for this game, the controls is simplistic and tight, graphics and sound is smoothed out well with stable framerates, multiplayer, beginner cars suitable for every race.

The bad: The advanced car drifts can be challenging and not as fun as the beginner cars, lack of assists and auto accelerate can tire your fingers out completely, the AI difficulties can be all over the place instead of its intended target for average players.

This is a rare sequel to the last superb game Formula Retro Racing which has eight standard tracks, one formula race car and a choice of a number of laps if you go into grand prix mode. This time, it has more than 16 tracks from around the world though the most challenging, even in beginners level. However, the AI difficulty can be a breeze to upmost frustrating, forcing you to find an optimal way of beating your opponents.

The graphics is well reminiscent of the 90's and it looks good in its current state, with the framerate at a stable 60 frames per second. The audio is also appropriate with decent car sounds and solid music beats that fits well though it chooses songs at random.

The replay is good. The multiplayer, even for the Switch is easily accessible for up to four players. Especially available is online play as well. But what lets the game down is the advanced cars that auto drifts, making it more challenging for die hard players to control. Also, a lack of button setup, assists and auto accelerate can drain your fingers strength in a challenging arcade and grand prix track. Still, at least the controls are nice and tight and it takes practice until you get it right.

Overall, it stays true as a sequel to Formula Retro Racing, this kind of game is for people who goes to the arcades for the fun of it. But you have to put up with the AI issues. If you can handle the Hong Kong track with a beginner car, good for you. Going to need help with that. Anyway, get this game and try it out. Maybe with a few more patches and this game would be perfect for about anyone to play. Enjoy the race!
