How can you not be drawn into the newest instalment of Fire Emblem? With FMV (full motion video) cut scenes that show at certain, important points in the game and voice acting that fits the motions of the mouth well it is definitely a step forward. Also the units and the map have been made 3D, making the game seem more lush and immersive due to being able to change your view from above head to right behind the units. New features that I liked a lot are the bonus exp and the support conversation option at the base. The bonus exp is useful for when you want to build up a character (eg Rolf) so that they can become one of your mightiest warriors. The support conversation is a hell of a lot better than back in The Sacred Stones when you had to talk in battle. With this you talk before battle. The only problem is that you can only have 3 conversations, so you will only have bonuses with one character, which is a let down if you’re the type of person who likes having that extra power in battle. If not, then don’t worry. The battle scenes are well detailed, however get boring rather quickly, but you can turn off them off and just watch your units as they are slashing at one another. A disappointment is the absence of dark magic but however that will be in the next game on the Wii. Overall, I believe it was a game worth the money, and I have gotten 100+ hours enjoyment out of it.
