Good game but missing that Final Fantasy vibe

User Rating: 8 | Final Fantasy XV (Digital Day One Edition) PS4

The game is good with a very interesting story, interesting and fun combat system, characters that are solid, and a fresh take on the series. Some issues with the game that I have is that the magic system is weird and does not feel like a FF magic system. The lack of using your teammates was also disappointing because I would love to use some of their abilities and kinda removes that iconic feel from previous FF games where you can directly control your teammates. Also the story was a bit disappointing especially some of the major story plots are stretched across other mediums like the movie, mini anime series, and other sources. The story feels half full at times and needs better explanation to what is happening. Lastly, the biggest issue for me is that the summon system is weak because it is random and you cant use them whenever you want, but I can understand why they did that because of plot reasons and how summoning can be difficult in certain areas. Overall, the game is fun, has a decent story, lovable characters, and a unique battle system that is enjoyable. I think the big issue with this game is that it lacks certain FF qualities that made other FF games great.
