Vaan breaks into the RTS arena with this title for the DS. The player controls 5 generals and have a set group of Espers they can call in battle called a "troupe" that is changeable in the pre-battle menu. It makes great use of the touchscreen's capabilities in marshalling your troops and summoning Espers, though it is fully-playable with the control pad and buttons. And on the topic of Espers, they are well-designed for a DS title though nearing the end, one might find themselves with alot of extra auracite and wishing for more Espers to spend it on. The dialogue is funny at times and the story has enough twists and turns that you'll never see the end coming. Side-quests abound, usually aiding the purpose of gathering resources to create special weapons and armor with the help of Cu-Sith on your airship.
