This is absolutely the best Final Fantasy game ever, and one of the best games out there on any system. The graphics are incredible. The animation is incredible. The story is great. A lot of people complain that there is too much in-game movie and not enough gameplay. There IS a lot of movie in this game and you can't skip it, you just have to watch it. The story is so great though that it will keep you hooked, and it's not even enough to bring the game down on a replay. The enemies are really good too. Many of the battles are like boss battles. And you won't complete this game any time soon after you start playing it. The first time I beat it I had 85 hours on it and I barely beat it. Now, I'm doing all of the hidden and side stuff, and I'm not close to being done and i've got 126 hours on it. Definitely worth your money on this one. This game is not good for a rental though. There's just way too much to it. Buy it, with all the dumb and incomplete games out there, you shouldn't mind at all paying $50 for this game.
