I remember playing Final Fantasy V years ago on my computer. Don't ask me how, I am not telling and I haven't done that since I got a Gameboy Pocket. Yes I had one of those and that about the same age of this game.

Well, back in the day I tried FFV and put it aside for other RPGs after getting very frustrated with it. The job system can be a bit daunting, as can figuring out what you need to do next. Some of the completely obvious ways to move on, like falling through a floor, I couldn't find.

Well the good news is that my option of FFV has greatly improved over time. The graphics still look great on the GBA and the game play translated smoothly from the SNES. The sound isn't as good as some of the new Gameboy games, but it is still better than most games. The graphics are a bit dated, but they actually look better on the smaller screen.

As far as the moments that caused me to lose some hair the first time, well walkthroughs fixed that. The job system is still a bit daunting, simply because there are so many of them and the ones you really want don't seem to appear until later in the game. I wish you could equip more skills, but all in all Jobs do add way more than they detract from the game.

There was quite a bit of bonus material added for the GBA release, including new jobs and dungeons. These additions fit quite well into the game and the beastuary is quite useful.

So if you have never played an old school RPG, this a great place to start but FFV for the GBA is a also a great stroll down memory lane.
