A very rich and detailed RPG that will never disappoint.

This was the first game I got when I recieved my GBA SP on a christmas a few years ago, and it still today is fun to play.

It takes place in Ivalice (also the setting in FF12) where a few kids have stumbled upon an ancient and magical book that takes them to the mythical realm of Ivalice. There you play as one of the main characters (for most of the game) because you've all been separated. You meat up with MontBlanc (not sure if his name is different in any other peoples games) who invites you to join his clan, then you begin performing missions like mercenaries.

Some of these missions are key plot points that develop the mystery shrouding the ancient book and how your supposed to get home.

The graphics are top notch GBA, and the environment is rich in detail and so are the characters. So many classes and races, and they have different colors. It really looks cool on the battle field. The game play is simple yet difficult to master. You need to pick a few top people to be in every battle so they level up with you (you'll mostly have 4-6 people on each battle, but there will be like 13 or so other clan members in your clan, so they become kind of useless, except for another type of quest...). On each characters turn, you can move them in place to attack or just attack and make a bunch of tactical decisions. The other clan members can do these missions that you don't even see happening, but you simply assign clan members to (best not to give away your very best members). Each match is pretty much won by killing every opposing character or killing the boss.

The sound in the game is also top notch GBA quality. Nice background music with great sound FX.

I did not like the lack of exploration, you simply click on pegs that represent areas on the map then your either in a store, pub or in a battle. Other wise, this game is very highly recommended. Too bad it was out so long ago.
