This title is the very definition of Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy 9 is my personal favourite of the Final Fantasy series. What sets this apart is its intricate and wonderful art direction, fantastic character designs and personality, the old fashioned good versus evil storyline and the perfect homage to the old Final Fantasy games that started it all. Many groaned about the random battles and not being totally different to FF7 and FF8. That is a load of rubbish because this is the title that shows Squaresoft mastering the Playstation capabilities and pushing it further than ever before.
Everything about this four disc masterpiece of videogame design is amazing and any faults or annoyances I had with the ultimately disappointing FF8 have been eradicated. I simply cannot explain enough how much I love this game. I'm not a total huge fan RPGs, but when they're polished and bursting with charm I can't help but fall for it. I really do recommend you buy this game without hesitation. It simply must be played.
