Wii Sports Resort Walkthrough

Become a champ of Wii Sports Resort with our complete guide, including tips on how to earn every single stamp.

Comments

When Wii Sports launched alongside the Wii nearly three years ago, it took the world by storm, becoming the best selling game of all-time. But the game wasn't perfect, with perhaps the biggest complaint lobbed its way being that there simply wasn't much depth or even much to do. Thankfully, it appears Nintendo has taken steps to rectify that by offering more games, more modes, and even achievement-like objectives that offer a richer gameplay experience with Wii Sports Resort. Oh, and the inclusion of Wii MotionPlus, which greatly enhances the Wii's motion-sensing capabilities, doesn't hurt either.

We'll show you around the 12+ activities, providing you with the tips you need to play at the top of your game. We'll also help you earn every stamp and unlockable this game has to offer.

Here's what you'll find in GameSpot's Wii Sports Resort Game Guide:

  • Using MotionPlus: If you're having some trouble with your new accessory, check here for help.
  • Sports: Become a pro at each of the game's 12 sports with our tips and tricks, including info on how to earn every stamp!

Using Wii MotionPlus

Overview

Wii MotionPlus is an exciting evolutionary step for the Nintendo Wii, as it greatly enhances the Wii Remote's ability to detect movement and will hopefully open the door to new gameplay possibilities. However, it does have a few quirks that might befuddle, or even frustrate new players if they're not quite sure why it's seemingly not working correctly. As such, this section exists to help you understand how the Wii MotionPlus works, and what you can do to get the most enjoyment out of it.

How It Works

In a nutshell, Wii MotionPlus houses a pair of gyroscopes which can detect orientation along three axises. When combined with the Wii Remote's built-in accelerometers, the controller can detect movement in almost any direction and orientation, allowing for true 1:1 motion-control. However, one limitation of using this technology is that the Wii has no idea how your controller is initially orientated--that is, it doesn't know if the controller's facing toward the TV or not when you first begin playing. Nintendo cleverly found a way around this limitation by having the player point at the screen before the more elaborate sports (such as sword dueling or table tennis), which allows the Wii to know roughly where the Wii Remote is in relation to the TV. From that point, every action you perform is then relative to that starting position, allowing for very precise controls.

Potential Problems

However, one problem that can arise is something known as "gyroscopic drift." In short, the Wii MotionPlus is only so accurate, and over time, the Wii can get confused as to how exactly the Wii Remote is being held. For example, after a few swings in sword Dueling, your Mii (the character on the screen) may appear to be holding the sword slightly differently, such as to the left or to the right, whereas you may be holding it straight. This can create a disconnect between how you're moving, and what your Mii is doing.

Thankfully, Wii Sports Resort handles this issue rather elegantly through an option called "Sensor Bar Assist," which is enabled by default. This allows the Wii to recalibrate the controller every time it's pointed at the screen (or more specifically, the sensor bar). Basically, in an ideal environment, your controller should automatically recalibrate itself often enough (whenever it "sees" the sensor bar) that you shouldn't notice any problems. However, not everyone plays in an ideal environment, and this can actually result in "Sensor Bar Assist" making the problem worse! But in order to resolve this issue, it helps to understand how exactly the "Sensor Bar" works.

Basically, the Sensor Bar is simply a pair of LEDs that emit infrared light--that is, they're invisible to the naked eye. However, the Wii Remote includes a camera at the front of the controller which can "see" this light, which is how the Wii knows when you're pointing at the screen (sensor bar). Unfortunately, other things emit infrared light too, such as certain light bulbs and this little thing called "The Sun," both of which can confuse the Wii Remote, causing it to mistake them for the sensor bar. If this happens while say you're swinging the controller around like a sword, the Wii will reset your Mii's pose so it's facing dead-ahead, even if you're not--needless to say, it can be very difficult to play like this. Thankfully, you have a couple of options.

Solutions

The best solution is to minimize the amount of lighting interference you may be experiencing. The simplest way to do this is to first find where the interference is coming from, and there's an easy way to do this from the Wii itself! To do so, head to the Wii System Settings screen (by clicking on the "Wii" icon in the bottom-left corner of the initial Wii channel screen), then click on "Sensor Bar," then "Sensitivity." You should now see a window on-screen which displays what the camera inside the Wii Remote sees. If you point it at the Sensor Bar, you should see two white dots--that's good. Now try pointing it elsewhere around the room, such as at windows and lights, where the Wii Remote may be aimed at during the course of play--if you see any more dots that means you're getting some interference.

Here are some quick tips to minimize lighting interference:

  • Turn off unnecessary lights.
  • Close the drapes, to prevent direct sunlight from entering.
  • Position the TV away from windows or other light-sources.

If that doesn't help, you can try adjusting the sensitivity of the Wii Remote by using the "+" and "-" buttons on that same sensitivity screen. The default setting is "3," with lower numbers representing less sensitivity. You want to get it to a point to where the Wii Remote can still see the Sensor Bar's lights, but not any others.

If following the steps above haven't helped, you're not out of luck! First off, we recommend disabling the "Sensor Bar Assist" options from within the main Wii Sports Resort menu. Although this will prevent the Wii from being able to automatically recalibrate your controller, it will also stop it from confusing other light sources with the sensor bar, which should prevent any sudden and jarring recalibration issues you may be encountering (such as your Mii suddenly holding its sword completely different than how you're holding the controller). But now this will reintroduce the "gyroscopic drift" problem we alluded to earlier. In short, the longer you play any of the sports, the more out-of-sync your actions and your Mii's actions will appear. Thankfully, most of the games are short enough that this shouldn't be a problem, but in some of the longer modes, such as Duel's Showdown mode, you may notice this happening more frequently. You can resolve this at any time by simply pointing your controller toward the TV and tapping "down" on the control-pad. This will cause your Mii to re-center whatever object they're holding straight-ahead, just as you are. Just make sure that you're holding the controller toward the TV when you do this, otherwise it might make the problem even worse!

Air Sports: Skydiving

  • Players 1-4 Players (Sequentially)
  • Objective n/a

Skydiving is the first activity every owner of Wii Sports Resort experiences, but it can be accessed again at any time from the "Air Sports" section of Wii Sports Resort. After jumping from the plane, your goal is to link up with the other skydivers, forming groups of up to 5, then pose for the camera! You'll earn a point for each skydiver (up to 5) in your shot, as well as an additional point for each one facing the camera. In addition, if you're able to form a group of five, a second bonus shot will be taken, netting you even more points! The first picture is always taken from the viewpoint of your TV, so try to turn the Miis so they're facing you. The second bonus shot is taken from the perspective of the skydiving photographer herself, so make sure to rotate the Miis to face her instead of the screen.

After a few minutes of skydiving, a meter will appear counting down how much farther you have left to fall until the final formation. In the final formation, every Mii you linked up with earlier (up to 30) will appear for one final photo. To do so, simply dive through the circular rings that appear, then get ready for the final picture to be snapped!

The controls are super simple: the Wii Remote is essentially your skydiver's body. Every twist and turn is mimicked almost exactly by your falling Mii. To descend faster, tilt the Wii Remote straight down so your Mii is falling head-first. To slow down, hold it flat so your Mii's falling belly first. To move around, simply tilt the Wii Remote slightly in the desired direction. Finally, after linking up with other skydivers, you can rotate the group just by spinning the controller in any direction.

Tips

  • Your fellow skydivers fall in groups of four, so you should try and link up with them all to form "perfect" groups.
  • After linking up with other skydivers, try and rotate the group toward the cameraman before he/she snaps your picture--you get a bonus point for each Mii facing the camera.
  • After linking up with the final formation at the end, flip everyone over on their back to face the camera for massive bonus points.
  • Try to score perfect formations! Not only is it worth more points, but you'll also have a bonus picture taken!
  • To descend faster, have your Mii fall feet or head-first. To slow down, flatten out (belly or back toward ground).

Stamps

High Five

Catch and link up with 4 other Mii characters and make sure everyone's face is visible when the camera snaps. Twist the Wii Remote around to get everyone to face the camera.

    Tips:
  • Keep your belly down! If you link up with others while falling on your back, it'll be impossible for all of you to face the camera at the same time.
  • Although it's easiest to link up with a single group of 4 Miis, sometimes you're better off quickly zooming over to another group--but be fast, before your picture's taken!
  • Once you've linked up with four other Miis, make sure to rotate toward the photographer--a brief outline surrounds the photographer showing where you need to be facing.

For the Birds

Take a photo with a bird in it. Hawks are often seen flying just above formation altitude. If you're lucky, a hawk might fly by just as the camera snaps!

    Tips:
  • The birds don't appear until the on-screen formation timer appears.
  • Once you spot a bird, grab a fellow skydiver, then try and keep the bird on-screen by turning toward it.

Friends in High Places

Catch at least 29 Mii characters during your dive, then join them for the final formation and have a picture taken. Even if you catch more than 29 Mii characters, 30 people is the biggest formation you can get.

    Tips:
  • You've gotta be fast! Check our tips in the Overview section above for help.

Camera Shy

Apparently, if you don't manage to catch anybody on your dive, the photographer will come out from behind the camera for a special shot.

    Tips:
  • As soon as you jump from the plane, tip yourself head first to sail right past the first group of skydivers! Then just keep aimed down until the formation alert, when the photographer will make a special appearance.
  • After the photographer makes her special appearance, she'll be marked with a circular target that you have to hit! She moves around in a large circle--try to predict where she'll be and aim for that spot at high-speed by falling head or feet-first.

200-point Dive

Get a score of 200 points or more. You'll need to make sure everyone's face is visible to get the most bonus points.

    Tips:
  • Follow our tips in the Overview above to earn 200 points.

Secrets

  • A special tropical border will surround any photograph that captures 3 or more Mii faces in your formation.

Air Sports: Island Flyover

  • Players 1-Player
  • Objective n/a

Island Flyover is perhaps the most relaxing and carefree mode offered in Wii Sports Resort. Taking control of a plane, you can soar around the island for 5-minutes at a time, doing pretty much whatever you want. Although there's no clear objective or any way to "win" the game, there are still several things you can accomplish, not just to earn stamps, but also unlock some of the island's secrets. More on that in a moment.

The controls in Island Flyover are simple. Basically, the Wii Remote becomes your plane--tilt it toward the ceiling to go up, toward the ground to go down, or twist it left and right to turn in the respective direction. For a quick speed-boost, jerk the controller forward (toward the TV)--you can also slow down afterward by pulling it back in the same way. Those are the bare basics, and all you really need to know to if you're just taking in the sights. However, there's still a bit more available to you: tapping "A" fires your plane's (non-lethal!) guns, which can be used to pop balloons. You can also kill the engine by holding "B," although this serves no practical purpose. In addition, pressing the "1" button launches a flare--it may seem pointless, but it can be handy in tracking down Miguel's guide plane on the main island, as he'll launch a flare of his own in return, marking his location. He'll guide you around the island, showing you some of its many sights.

Speaking of which, there's a lot to see on Wuhu Island...80 things, to be exact. Whenever you fly near a point of interest, a "!" bubble will appear--fly even closer or shoot the bubble to trigger it, causing an interesting factoid to appear. Once you've triggered a "!" point, a check mark will appear on the bubble, indicating you've already found that location. Finding the points of interest will unlock some hidden features of the island, so it's well worth your while tracking them all down! Some of them are tough to find, so please consult our "Stamp" section below for maps and images of where each one is located.

Stamps

Island Hopper

Visit any "!" point on Wedge Island. Wedge Island is the large island a little way away from the main island, where the golf courses are located.

    Tips:
  • As stated, Wedge Island is the second-largest island, way off in the distance. It takes almost three-minutes to fly there, so it's best to get an early start. Don't forget to boost by thrusting the controller toward the screen.

Pop Frenzy

Pop 150 balloons in the course of one flight. This includes balloons on planes or vehicles and small balloons released from larger ones.

    Tips:
  • Don't spend too much time cleaning up any one particular area; dive in, get what you can and move on.
  • Check the town and tennis courts for a high concentration of balloons.
  • Make sure to fly through the large balloons containing the smaller ones, then loop back around to pop most of them. Look for one of them near the lighthouse.

Follow That Plane

Follow Miguel's guide plane around the island for at least three minutes. Watch the smoke trail left by Miguel's plane. It changes color while you are following him. If you can't find him, try firing a flare.

    Tips:
  • Because Miguel is on the move, he can be difficult to track down. First of all, he always sticks to the main island, so look for him there. Secondly, try launching a flare--he'll respond in kind, revealing his location. His flare becomes even more obvious when playing at night. Once you've found him, you need to tail him for 3-minutes, although we suggest going until time runs out, just to ensure you've followed him long-enough. Oh, and don't sweat it if you break away briefly--the invisible counter resumes from where it left off.

Wuhu Tour Guide

Collect all the "!" points in the daytime, evening, and night. There are 80 locations, with new information for each time of day. That's 240 "!" points in total!

    Tips:
  • Ugh...that's right, you need to track down all 80 locations in all three times of day. Consult our maps and images above to find all 80 locations...then do it again for the other two times of day. You can see which locations you've found, and during which time-period, by consulting the map after each 5-minute run. The lighted sun and moon icons display which time periods you've found a "!" in.
  • This stamp is easiest to earn if you stick to one time of day at a time, until you've located all 80 points-of-interest. That is, track them all down during the daytime first, then evening, and finally night. This should minimize the amount of times you need to consult the map at the end of each run.

Balloonatic

Pop every white balloon at all times of day. Once popped, white balloons will be a different color the next time you play. Balloons on planes or vehicles and small balloons released from larger ones don't count for this stamp.

    Tips:
  • After popping a white balloon, it will return as a different color during the next round, indicating that you've already found it. As such, you only need to focus on the white ones.
  • Don't bother looking for white balloons attached to vehicles--you won't find any. Also, you won't find any inside the large balloons either.
  • There are a lot of white balloons out there, and you need to pop them all--in each of the three times of day--in order to earn this stamp. The balloons can be found practically everywhere, so make sure to scour the inch of Wuhu Island and its smaller siblings.
  • Carefully comb the town's streets for people holding white balloons--some of them can be very tricky to not just find, but shoot too.
  • Make sure to explore every tunnel on Wuhu Island, as there's generally a few balloons inside each one.
  • The tennis courts are home to perhaps the highest concentration of balloons--make sure you grab them all.

Secrets:

  • Use the control-pad to change the camera angle.
  • Try connecting a Nunchuk to provide easier access to some of the game's controls, such as adjusting the camera with the control-stick.
  • When flying close to the Hillside Cabins, does that melody ring a bell? It's from Super Mario Bros!
  • Does Wuhu Island look at all familiar? It's the same island used in Wii Fit's Jogging mode, only it's been upgraded significantly, mow featuring many more landmarks such as the giant volcano. Oh, and before Wii Fit, the island was first shown back in 2006 in a prototype of an unreleased flying game. Cool, huh?

Dogfight

  • Players 2-Players (Simultaneous)
  • Objective Pop all of your opponent's balloons

In Dogfight, you and a friend go head-to-head in order to pop each other's balloons. Attached to the back of each of your plane's is a large balloon with a number written on it; that number shows how many hits you can take before losing. Each time its shot, you'll lose a point. However, you'll also lose a point if the balloon touches anything, such as the ground or a building. Even worse, you'll lose half your points if you crash! However, if you're low on balloons, there is a way to earn more. Throughout the match, additional balloons will appear at designated locations, as marked in the center of the screen. Fly there to add 10 additional points to your balloon, but be careful of your opponent, who'll likely be flying there too!

The controls in Dog Fight are simple. Tapping "A" fires your plane's (non-lethal!) guns, which can be used to pop balloons. You can also kill the engine by holding "B," although this serves no practical purpose.

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Tips

  • If you only have one balloon left, crashing doesn't take anything away--use this to your advantage! If you're being chased and only have a single balloon left, you can get them off your tail by diving into the nearest obstacle--including the ground or ocean!
  • If you crash, you lose half of your balloons! This can be devastating if you have a large amounts!
  • Be careful! As you gain more balloons, the one attached to your plane grows larger, which can leave you vulnerable to attack from the front!
  • Try to hit-up as many of the marked locations before your opponent. If you've already maxed out your balloons, you can still fly through the ring to deprive them of earning any themselves.
  • Don't fly too close to nearby structures, as they'll pop your balloons!
  • Don't forget to speed-up or slow-down to shake your opponent off your tail. If you're a good flyer, try flying between the buildings or through the caves.

Archery

  • Players 1, 2, 3, 4-Players Sequentially
  • ObjectiveAim for the target! Whoever scores the most points wins

In Archery, the Wii Remote becomes your Bow and the Nunchuk the arrow. The goal, as you may have guessed, is to shoot arrows into the target--the closer to the bullseye, the more points you'll earn. The controls are a bit more involved than the rest the of the sports: first, you're going to hold the Wii Remote and Nunchuk in the opposite hands that you're generally used to. That is, the Nunchuk should be in your dominant hand, with the Wii Remote in the other. Now hold both controllers vertically out in front of you, then when you're ready to start aiming, hold "A" on the Wii Remote. You can now adjust your aim simply by moving the Wii Remote around. When you want to ready your shot, hold "Z" on the Nunchuk as you pull it back toward you. You'll notice an outline of a circle on the screen that begins to shrink; that circle represents the strength of your shot--the smaller it gets, the further the arrow will fly. If you pull the Nunchuk back quickly, you'll ready the arrow even faster. Now aim at the target and release "Z" to launch your arrow! It sounds complicated, but you'll get the hang of it!

Now aiming at a stationary target isn't too difficult, but other factors will soon conspire against you to make even getting close to the targets a formidable challenge. First up: Wind. Thankfully, a handy wind meter in the top-right corner shows both the speed and direction of the wind, so make sure to take that into account before firing your shot (if the wind is blowing to the left, you'll want to aim right of the target, for instance). Secondly, the target itself will be perched further away as you venture deeper into the challenges, forcing you to arch your shot (that is, aiming above the target). And in the final stages, the target will actually move back and forth along a track, where it will be obscured at times by obstacles place in front if it--great.

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Tips

  • Does your aim seem off? Try releasing "A," recenter your controller, then press it again to reset your stance.
  • You can ready your arrow faster by pulling the Nunchuk back quickly.
  • For farther targets, make sure to aim up, to arch the arrow into it.
  • Pay attention to the wind! Low speeds don't affect the trajectory much, but higher ones will!
  • If playing multiplayer, pay attention to what your opponents are doing, adjusting your shot based on their mistakes (or successes!).

Hidden Objects

Hidden within each Archery level is a well-hidden object. If you can land an arrow in all of them, you'll earn a Stamp.

Stamps

Bull Stampede

Hit the center of the target and get 10 points with all the arrows in one stage. This can be in any difficulty level, but not in team play. The easiest way to pull this off is in Stage 1 of the Beginner level.

    Tips:
  • As the game itself suggests, it's easiest to earn this stamp in Stage 1 of the Beginner difficulty.

Sure Shot

Hit the target with all 3 arrows in each of the 4 stages. It's possible to do this on any difficulty level. You can't get this stamp in team play.

    Tips:
  • It's easiest to do this in the Beginner difficulty.
  • If your first arrow of three hits the target, try and replicate that exact shot for the next two.

Century Shot

Shoot 100 arrows into the target. It doesn't matter what score you earn with each shot, as long as you hit the target,

    Tips:
  • Don't worry, you don't have to do all 100 all at once! The game tracks the amount of arrows over time, so even if you only play every few weeks, you'll eventually earn this stamp.
  • It's easiest to do this in the Beginner difficulty.

A Secret to Everybody

There is a secret target in every stage of every difficulty level. Hit all the secret target in every level to get this stamp.

    Tips:
  • The secret object can be tricky to find--try searching everywhere and looking for anything odd peeking out. If you can't find it, try firing the arrow at random locations--if you get close to the object, the camera will zoom in, revealing its exact location.
  • The hidden objects are usually far away, meaning you're going to have to arch your shot considerably (that is, aim well above it) in order to hit them.

Sharpshooter

Score 10 points with every arrow in each of the 4 rounds. This can be on any difficulty level but not in team play. Obviously, it's easiest to do on Beginner difficulty.

    Tips:
  • It's easiest to do this in the Beginner difficulty level. In general, it's best to aim just slightly above the bulls-eye.

Basketball: 3-Point Contest

  • Players 1, 2, 3, 4-Players Sequentially
  • Objective Shoot some hoops! Whoever scores the most baskets wins

This is perhaps one of the most basic games in Wii Sports Resort. Basically, all you have to do is grab a ball, then use a throwing motion to throw it. You have one-minute to make as many baskets as you can with 20 balls. To grab a ball, simply tilt the controller down and press "B." Now to throw it, raise the controller over your head, just as if it were a basketball. Your Mii will then jump in the air--simply flick the Wii Remote upward at the peak of your jump (while keeping the controller level!) to make the shot--there's no need to release "B." Now reach down and grab another ball for your next shot!

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Tips

  • Your position on the court doesn't matter, so don't let it throw you off.
  • Time's tight, so don't wait for the your last thrown basketball to make it to the hoop! Reach down and grab another to make your next shot immediately after!
  • Try to toss the ball at the very peak of your jump with a good amount of force, while keeping the Wii Remote as straight as possible to avoid throwing it to the side.

Stamps

Hot Streak

Sink five consecutive shots in the basket. Get in a good rhythm with the first five balls, and anything's possible.

    Tips:
  • Use our tips in the Overview section above to earn this stamp.

Bonus Plumber

Drain all five bonus balls.
    Tips:
  • The bonus balls are the multi-colored ones at the each of each group of five--sink all of them to earn this stamp.

Quick Draw

Score 20 points or more with at least 10 seconds left on the clock. Don't think--shoot.

    Tips:
  • You have to be quick! As soon as you shoot, reach down and grab another ball. Don't wait for your last shot to go in first!
  • Use our tips in the Overview section above to earn this stamp.

Hot Hand

Sink all 25 balls in the basket. Just stay focused and get into the groove.

    Tips:
  • You have to be quick! As soon as you shoot, reach down and grab another ball. Don't wait for your last shot to go in first!
  • Use our tips in the Overview section above to earn this stamp.

Pure Shooter

Sink all 25 balls in the basket with at least 15 seconds left on the clock. It takes some serious skills!

    Tips:
  • You have to be quick! As soon as you shoot, reach down and grab another ball. Don't wait for your last shot to go in first!
  • Use our tips in the Overview section above to earn this stamp.

Basketball: Pickup Game

  • Players 1, 2-Simultaneously
  • Objective Play 3-on-3! Whoever scores the most baskets wins

In this simplified version of 3-on-3, you'll take turns playing offensively and defensively in a 3-minute match. When in possession of the ball, button-icons will appear over your teammates ahead--pressing either one will pass the ball to the respective teammate. You can also dribble the ball by flicking the Wii Remote down repeatedly (as if it were an actual basketball) to run. You can take your shot at any time by pressing "B," though it's best to attempt this when you're not being guarded. In addition, you can go for the dunk by passing (or dribbling) the ball directly underneath the basket, then tapping "B." This gives you a guaranteed point so long as you make the 'dunk' motion at the peak of your jump.

When on defense, you can attempt to steal the ball by flicking the Wii Remote--the ball has to be close (or they have to be running at you) in order for this to work. Furthermore, if your opponent attempts a shot while one of your teammates is nearby, you can attempt to block it with a jump by flicking the Wii Remote upward.

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Tips

  • When shooting, try to toss the ball at the very peak of your jump with a good amount of force, while keeping the Wii Remote as straight as possible to avoid throwing it to the side.
  • If you try to take a shot while guarded, wait a moment or two to see if your opponent mistakenly jumps before you do, giving you an opening immediately after.
  • While defending, if your opponent attempts a shot, try blocking it with a jump by flicking the Wii Remote upward just before he shoots.
  • Be careful not to pass to a teammate if there's an opponent between you two.
  • When in possession of the ball, and you're just below the net, press "B" to jump in the air, then make a throwing motion at the peak of your jump for a slam dunk!
  • Watch the ball carefully before attempting the steal--it has to be close in order to grab it away. If you time it wrong, you'll fall to the ground, giving your opponent a huge opening.
  • If your opponent fails to steal a ball, use that chance to take a shot without fear of being blocked!

Stamps

Triple Dip

Score a goal from beyond the 3-point line in single-player mode.

    Tips:
  • Pass the ball to a teammate when he's outside the 3-point line, then take your shot!
  • Use our shooting tips in the Overview section above to earn this stamp.

Rim Rattler

Dunk the ball five times in a game in single-player mode. To dunk, get right up underneath the basket and slam the ball in.

    Tips:
  • Pass to your teammates if they're closer to the goal and are currently unguarded.
  • Dribble the ball to run beneath the basket.

Lights Out

Drain five 3-point baskets in one game. A 3-point basket is a shot from beyond the 3-point line. You can get this stamp in single-player mode only.

    Tips:
  • Pass the ball to a teammate when he's outside the 3-point line, then take your shot!
  • Use our shooting tips in the Overview section above to earn this stamp.

Buzzer Beater

Make a last-second shot with a "buzzer beater," a basket scored just before the buzzer signals the end of the game. You can get this stamp in single-player mode only.

    Tips:
  • Try to get in a good position just before the three-minutes elapse, then take your shot just before the buzzer sounds!

Hoop Hero

Take down the champions in a pickup game! The reigning Wuhu champions are faster, jump higher, and shoot better than any other team. Better drain some 3-pointers!

    Tips:
  • Continue beating teams to eventually work your way up to the Champions. If it looks as if you're losing a match, quickly pause to either start or quit before the match concludes to prevent it from damaging your record and setting you back.

Bowling

  • Players 1, 2, 3, 4-Players Sequentially
  • Objective Score the most points within 10 frames
No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Bowling makes its triumphant in this updated version of the Wii Sports classic, and perhaps mimics the actual sport more closely than almost anything else in Resort. Just like in actual bowling, the goal is to score the most points across 10 frames. Each frame consists of up to two rolls, with the exception of the 10th frame, which allows up to three. During each frame, you want to knock over as many pins as possible--bowling strikes and spares is key. Now each pin is normally worth a single point, however, if you knock over all 10 with a single roll, that's called a strike. Earning a strike will double the points earned for your next two rolls. If it takes you both rolls of a frame to knock over all 10, that's called a Spare. A Spare will only double your points of your next roll. As such, you definitely want to focus on scoring as many Strikes or Spares as you can, otherwise you're losing out on potential points!

The controls are very simple: Setup your lane position by pressing left or right on the control-pad to move your Mii back and forth. You can also rotate your Mii so he's throwing the ball at an angle by pressing "A," then pressing left or right to spin him. When you're ready to roll, hold the Wii Remote out in front of you like a bowling ball, press "B," then pull your arm back as if it were an actual ball and swing it forward, releasing "B" during your swing. In addition, you can apply spin simply by rotating your wrist left or right just before releasing--this can be handy for cleaning up separated pins.

Tips

  • If you have two groups of pins separated by a gap, roll the ball into one group from the side with some spin, to knock the pins into the other group.

Bowling: 100-Pin Game

  • Players 1, 2, 3, 4-Players Sequentially
  • Objective Score the most points within 10 frames

100-Pin Game is just as it sounds: it's bowling with 100 pins. Off the Wall

Hit the gutter guard once and then get a strike.

    Tips:
  • You're going to have to change your Mii's rolling angle for this one--try to angle it so the ball will roll into the headpin after bouncing off the guard.

Secret Strike

Word is, there's a somewhat unusual way of getting a strike. They say it has something to do with the gutter guards.

    Tips:
  • This one's tricky--try and roll the ball along the top of the gutter guard. If it rolls the entire distance, you'll earn an instant strike.

Pin Dropper

Score a strike or a spare on every frame (except the third throw of the 10th frame, which doesn't count). You can't get this stamp in team play.

Bowling: Spin Control

  • Players 1, 2, 3, 4-Players Sequentially
  • Objective Score the most points within 10 frames

In Spin Control, it's just basic bowling, except now there are obstacles on the course you'll have to avoid! And as the name suggests, adding "spin" is how you''ll do so. The controls are very simple: Setup your lane position by pressing left or right on the control-pad to move your Mii back and forth. You can also rotate your Mii so he's throwing the ball at an angle by pressing "A," then pressing left or right to spin him. Canoeing: Speed Challenge

  • Players 1, 2, 3, 4-Players Simultaneously
  • Objective Make it to the finish before time runs out

In Canoeing, it's you and up to three others in a race against time! You need to paddle your canoe over to the finish line before time expires; each time you complete a race, you'll have to paddle even further the next time. Along the way, you'll have to evade obstacles, such as tall grass and lilly pads which will slow you down. This challenge isn't too difficult with a single-player, but when you have two or more players piled into a single-canoe, teamwork becomes a must. It's best to have one person be the leader and yell out what everyone else should do (go straight, turn left, etc).

To paddle your canoe, grip the Wii Remote vertically with both hands, then perform a rowing motion on either side of your body--the wider your stroke, the faster you'll go. To go straight, alternate paddling on the left and right sides of your body with each stroke; try rowing closer to your body to minimize turning. Now when you want to turn, simply paddle only on side of your body opposite of the way you want to turn (that is, if you wish to turn right, paddle on the left side of your body). The further out from your body you stroke, the faster you will turn.

Tips

  • To row straight, alternate rowing on the left and right side of your body with every stroke--the closer to your body the Wii Remote is, the straight you'll go.
  • To make sharp turns, row further away from your body.
  • Avoid rowing through tall grass or lily pads, which slow you down.
  • In expert mode, you'll encounter water fountains and falling rocks, which create large waves. These are actually more devastating the further away you are from them, so you should row right through them!

Ducks in a Row

In Free Practice Mode, find all the stray ducklings on the lake and lead them back to their mother. You have to complete the speed Challenge afterwards to get the stamp.

    Tips:
  • Having trouble finding the ducklings? Check the images below for all of their locations.
  • The mother can be found near the center of the lake.
  • Be careful you don't hit anything while a duckling's following you, otherwise he'll go wander off somewhere nearby and you'll have to collect him again.
  • Because the ducklings disperse if you hit something, it's best to drop them off with the mother as soon as you find one. That way, if you hit anything, you only need to round up a single duckling again instead of however many you might have had.

VS

  • Players 2-Players Simultaneously
  • Objective Paddle through more checkpoints before your opponent

In VS mode, you'll race an opponent, with each of you manning your own canoe. Instead of racing simply to the finish, the goal is to make it through the majority of a series of checkpoints before your opponent.

Tips

  • Don't worry about falling too far behind, as the game will actually push you forward to stay within a minimum distance of your opponent.
  • To row straight, alternate rowing on the left and right side of your body with every stroke--the closer to your body the Wii Remote is, the straight you'll go.
  • To make sharp turns, row further away from your body.

Cycling: Road Race

  • Players 1-Player
  • Objective Win the race

"It's like riding a bike" is what people often say, but coming to grips with this sport is actually pretty tricky. In short, your Wii Remote and Nunchuk become your bike's pedals, and you have to alternate drumming them in order to gain speed--the faster you drum them, the quicker you'll go. But there's a catch! If you pedal too fast for too long, you'll lose stamina, as represented by the three hearts in the upper-left corner. Run out of hearts and your biker will have to take a breather, costing you both time and likely several positions. The key to riding a good race is to draft--that is, ride behind the other bikers as often as you can (you'll know you're in position when you see wind trails surround you). Doing so will refill your stamina meter (hearts) much faster, allowing you to power ahead until you exhaust yourself again.

Perhaps the trickiest bit of this sport is steering. You can steer the bike simply by tilting both controllers either to the left or to the right. What many don't realize though is that very little steering is actually required. Basically, your biker follows the course automatically, turning only when he/she needs to. So if you're still coming to grips with cycling, it's best to just focus on the pedaling and let your Mii handle the turning, otherwise you may find yourself steering far too right, turning into walls, or veering off-road.

But for those who've gotten the pedaling potion down, steering can come in handy, but it's important to keep a few things in mind. For one, steering though most of the track is unnecessary, as again, your Mii will automatically follow the course. Secondly, when you do steer, it only takes very slight tilts of the controller--don't over do it, otherwise you may find yourself veering all over the place. Third, steering should only be used to attain minor adjustments, such as avoiding obstacles, or getting in position behind another biker to draft them.

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Tips

  • Only steer when you have to avoid something, make a sharp corner, or get in position to draft behind other bikers. Let your Mii handle the rest--he'll follow the course automatically for you.
  • Watch your stamina! As soon as you empty all three hears, STOP PEDALING. If you don't, you run the risk of tiring out, forcing you to stop for a breather...which will cost you the race.
  • Draft! Drafting is key to winning races. Doing so allows you to recover stamina much faster, giving you the energy you need to pedal up to the next bike.
  • Groups of bikers are your friends! Packs of bikers are super-easy to draft behind, so take advantage of them before leaving them in your dust.
  • Don't bother using your brakes; if you need to slow down, simply stop pedaling and coast.
  • Be wary of ledges! Falling off a cliff or into the water will cost you time and several positions, since you'll have to restart from a dead-stop. Hug the inside of the track to avoid falling off.
  • Watch out for obstacles, such as rocks, banana peels, and oil slicks. Each one will cause you to lose control for a moment, potentially you sending you off-course at best, or off a ledge at worst! Steer around them!
  • It may seem obvious, but be careful that you don't run head-first into the two poles on either side of the finish line. It will bring you to a dead-stop, likely costing you the race!

Stamps

Last Gasp: Finish a race when you're out of breath.

    Tips:
  • Here's the deal: You need to cross the finish line while completely exhausted. That is, your biker must be out of hearts and in the process of slowing down and crossing the finish line, just before he drinks from his bottle. To do this, put the pedal to the metal just before the finish line until you're out of hearts, then coast the rest of the way until just before the finish line, where you should then pedal as fast as you can to deplete the rest of your stamina.

First of Many

Finish a race in 1st place for the first time to get this stamp. It doesn't matter which race you do it on.

6-Stage Master

Finish the 6-stage race in first place. You only have to finish first in the last stage, so you can gradually work your way to the front of the pack.

    Tips:
  • You only need to finish the final race of the six in first.
  • Use our tips in the overview above to earn this stamp.

Secrets:

  • Pop a wheelie by flicking the Wii Remote and Nunchuk up at the same time!
  • Try flicking the control stick to ring your bike's bell!
  • Use the control-pad to change the camera angle.
  • On the pre-race route map, try fiddling around with the controls to do different things. The control stick zooms in and out, the control-pad changes the camera angle, the "1" button hides the highlighted route behind tall objects, whereas the "2" button hides it entirely. Finally, pressing "B" gives you a quick run-through of the course.

Cycling: VS

  • Players 1, 2-Players Simultaneous (requires 2 Wii Remotes & Nunchuks)
  • Objective Win the race

The basics for this are identical to cycling, except now instead of racing the computer, you're trying to beat your friend! In short, your Wii Remote and Nunchuk become your bike's pedals, and you have to alternate drumming them in order to gain speed--the faster you drum them, the quicker you'll go. But there's a catch! Frisbee Dog

  • Players 1, 2, 3, 4-Players Sequentially
  • Objective Throw the Frisbee toward the target and balloons. Whoever earns the most points wins

If you've played Frisbee, then you should already have a good handle on how this works. You're given 10 throws to toss toward the large target; the closer to the bulls-eye, the more points you'll earn. The outer green zone is worth 10 points, the inner orange one 50, and a bulls-eye a whopping 100! After the first five throws, balloons will start to appear, worth varying amounts of points. Ideally, you want to pop the balloon with the Frisbee, then have the Frisbee curve toward the target.

After grabbing the Frisbee, throwing it is as easy as you imagined. Simply pull it back to whichever side feels comfortable, then make a throwing motion, releasing "B" when you want to toss the Frisbee. You can adjust the length of your throw by tilting the Frisbee up for increased distance or down to throw it closer (you'll almost always want to throw it further though). Similarly, you can curve the Frisbee by tilting the controller either left or right before releasing--this is crucial to popping the balloons and landing in the target afterward.

Tips

  • It doesn't really matter how hard you throw it, so focus on your angle and timing!
  • Don't worry about the dog; he'll always catch it as long as you're close to the target.
  • When the balloons appear, focus primarily on hitting them, but adjust your throwing angle to curve the Frisbee toward the target too. Nailing both will score you massive points.

Stamps

Good Dog

Throw the Frisbee right into the center of the target area to make the dog jump up and grab it out of the air. This is more of an accomplishment for the dog, really.

    Tips:
  • You'll generally have to throw the Frisbee further in order to score a Bulls-eye, so tilt your controller up slightly before releasing.

Balloon Animal

During practice, pop all 9 balloons in ten throws or less. After ten throws, any remaining balloons are replaced with nine new ones. You have to complete a match to get the stamp.

    Tips:
  • Check out our tips in the overview above for some throwing advice.
  • Getting inside the target doesn't matter, so focus on the balloons.

A for Effort

Score 10 points with each of your 10 throws to get this stamp. That means hitting the green 10-point zone every time. It's at least as hard as aiming for the bull's-eye. You can't get this stamp in team play.

    Tips:
  • Check out our tips in the overview above for some throwing advice.
  • It's generally best to aim for the green zone on the sides of the target, instead of the ones in front or behind it.
  • If the target is far off to the side, aim for the green zone closest to the center--it's easier to gauge when to release this way.

Perfect Target

Hit the center of the target area and score 100 points with all ten of your throws. Extra points scored by popping balloons don't count. You can't get this stamp in team play.

    Tips:
  • Check out our tips in the overview above for some throwing advice.

Golden Arm

Score 100 points with every throw and pop every balloon. That'll get you an astonishing 1,500 points. You can't get this stamp in team play.

    Tips:
  • To earn this stamp, you need to score a bulls-eye with every throw, while popping every balloon that appears. Good luck!
  • Check out our tips in the overview above for some throwing advice.

Secrets:

  • You can zoom the camera closer by tapping "up" on the control-pad.

Frisbee Golf

  • Players 1, 2, 3, 4-Players Sequentially
  • Objective Shoot some hoops! Whoever scores the most baskets wins

Frisbee Golf is just like Golf...except with a Frisbee! You play on the same courses and everything! However, instead of trying to land the Frisbee inside a small hole, you target is now a giant cone of light. You're also given the choice of three Frisbee types: The Driver, Midrange, and Putter--each is ideal for throwing certain distances, but thankfully, the game recommends which one you should use.

After grabbing the Frisbee, throwing it is as easy as you imaged. Simply pull it back to whichever side feels comfortable, then make a throwing motion, releasing "B" when you want to toss the Frisbee. You can adjust the length of your throw by tilting the Frisbee up for increased distance or down to throw it closer (you'll almost always want to throw it further though). Similarly, you can curve the Frisbee by tilting the controller either left or right before releasing--this can be handy for avoiding trees.

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Tips

  • It doesn't really matter how hard you throw the Frisbee, so focus on your angle and timing!
  • Trees can bring your Frisbee to a grinding halt, so try curving your disc around them by tilting it left or right before throwing.
  • Once a Frisbee enters the cone of light, it's not coming out. This means you should always aim for it--even if it is a long-shot, as you never know when you might make it in!
  • Although the cone of light is large, it's still pretty easy to soar over right it, so you're generally best off using the recommend Frisbee type, that way if you do miss, the Frisbee should land somewhere nearby.

Stamps

Under Par

Finish any 3-, 9-, or 18-hole course under par. A score of 0 is par. A score of -1 or less is under par. You can't earn this stamp in a team-play match.

    Tips:
  • Check out our tips in the overview above to improve your throw and earn this stamp..

Lucky Skip

Get this stamp when a Frisbee bound for a water hazard skips across the surface of the water and lands safely on the other side.

    Tips:
  • In order to skip a frisbee across the water, it has to land on it while relatively flat.
  • Try throwing from the water's edge toward a piece of land near sea-level--the easiest way to get close to the water's edge is to toss the Frisbee directly into the body of water. You'll then be reset somewhere nearby.
  • The trio of courses in Resort C are ideal for this stamp; access them by playing "3-holes."

On a Roll

To pull off a "roll-in," throw your Frisbee from outside the green, hit the ground, and roll it into the goal. It sounds tough, and it's even tougher than you think.

    Tips:
  • Try not to hit the ball too hard (that is, your power should not exceed the height of the power meter), otherwise draw or fade will automatically be added to your shot, causing it to go where you may not want it to!
  • In order to earn this stamp, you have to toss the Frisbee from outside the green (the lightest shade of grass that borders the goal), then have it roll along the ground into the goal. To do so, get as close to the edge of the green as you can (the putter's handy for this) before attempting this. Once there, we suggest using the Frisbee the game recommends, then using an overhand motion (that is, the Frisbee should be on its side as you toss it). If all goes well, it'll hit the ground on its side and roll right into the goal--just keep in mind it'll likely roll left a bit if you're right-handed (or to the right if you're left-handed).
  • The ground near the goal is relatively flat in the Classic A courses, so try it there.

Hole in One

Throw the Frisbee into the target area in just one throw. The target is a tower of light rather than a tiny hole, so it's a lot easier to do than in classic golf...but still not easy!

    Tips:
  • The easiest course for a hole-in-one is the first hole of "Classic B"--access it by selecting "3-holes."

Straight and Narrow

Play an 18-hole round of Frisbee Golf without throwing any discs out of bounds or into a water hazard. You can't get this stamp in team play.

    Tips:
  • Check out our tips in the overview above for some throwing advice.

Golf

  • Players 1, 2, 3, 4-Players Sequentially
  • Objective Get the ball to the hole in as few strokes as possible

Golf is another returning sport from the original game. For those who've played the original version of Wii Sports Golf, you'll find the controls are largely the same, but with some minor improvements. Swinging works just as you imagine: pull the Wii Remote back to setup your shot, then swing it forward into the ball. The harder you hit it, the farther it will go. However, now you can add draw or fade (that is, cause the ball to sail left or right in the air) during your shot by twisting the Wii Remote either toward you or away. This change is immediately reflected by the on-screen power meter, which tilts in the respective direction. However, this addition can make hitting a straight shot pretty difficult, so it's best to do lost of practice swings, and focus on keeping your controller straight (that is, don't tilt it!) during your swing.

Tips

  • Having trouble keeping the controller straight during your swing? There's a way to cheat, but this should be a last resort. Basically, the Wii Remote calibrates itself whenever you tab "B"--regardless of where you Wii Remote actually it, it treats it as if it were facing down, like an actual golf club. You can use this to your advantage to make swinging a straight shot super-easy. Simply hold the controller out in front of you flat (so the buttons are facing upward), tab "B" to calibrate it to that position, then perform your swing simply by waving the controller in front of you, almost as if you were tossing a Frisbee. As long as you keep it flat (buttons facing up the entire time), you should hit a perfectly straight shot!

Stamps

Under Par

Finish any course under par (in less than the set number of shots for the course). Zero is par, and a score of -1 or less is under par. You can't get this stamp in team play.

    Tips:
  • Check out our tips in the overview above for help on earning this stamp.

Chip In

Get a "chip in" when a chip shot, a short shot used to get the ball onto the green, falls or rolls straight into the hole.

    Tips:
  • In order to score a chip-in, you have to be just outside the green

King of Clubs

Finish a course at 9 under par, or 9 fewer shots than the preset number of shots for the course. On a nine-hole course, that means getting a birdie on every hole! You can't get this stamp in team play.

    Tips:
  • Check out our tips in the overview above for help on earning this stamp.

Ace of Clubs

Finish a course at 18 under par (in 18 fewer shots than the set number of shots for the course). In theory, it's possible to do this even on a nine-hole course. You can't get this stamp in team play.

    Tips:
  • Check out our tips in the overview above for help on earning this stamp.

Hole in One

Hit the ball and sink it into the cup in one amazing shot.

Power Cruising: Slalom Course

  • Players 1, 2, 3, 4-Players Sequentially
  • Objective Ride through the checkpoints quickly to earn as many points as you can before the finish line

The goal in Power Cruising is to complete the track with as many points as possible. Now you earn points by cruising through the checkpoints--the faster you do so, the more points you earn. Above each checkpoint is a timer, which is activated as soon as you pass through the preceding one. The timer starts at 10 and counts down to 1--this represents how many points you'll earn the moment you pass through the checkpoint, so doing so quickly is important. In addition, sometimes you'll find a smaller "bonus" ring inside the checkpoint; driving through these is well worth your while as they'll double the points you earn from that checkpoint!

To control your watercraft, hold the Wii Remote and Nunchuk in front of you like handlebars and position them inward, so the top of the controller (with the control-pad/control stick) is facing you. Now hold either "A" or "B" to accelerate, then tilt the controls as if they were a handlebar to steer left or right. To perform a boost, simply twist the Wii Remote quickly, as if you were rolling on the throttle. Your boost is represented by a meter just right of your watercraft; the fuller it is, the faster you'll go. As soon as you use it, it will begin to refill; although you can use it at any time, it's generally best to wait for it to fill completely for maximum boost.

Tips

  • Begin your turns through each goal a bit early so you're lined-up for the next one.
  • Start the race off with a boost!
  • Try to refrain from boosting before the race starts--it may not refill in time before the actual race begins, costing you a second or two.
  • Wait for the boost meter to completely refill (when it turns purple) before using it for maximum boost.
  • If you hit an object, boost immediately after you escape its grasp to quickly rebuild your momentum..
  • Although the waves should post much trouble, try riding along them to minimize interference.
  • If you take too long getting to a goal, the timer will stop at 1. Since the point count can't get any lower, take the time to line yourself up for the following goal as you head through the 1-point one.
  • In some of the tougher courses, goals may be suspended above the water. Thankfully, a large wave appears just before each one--boost off it for the height you need to jump through.

Swordplay: Duel

  • Players 1, 2-Players Simultaneous (requires 2 Controllers)
  • Objective First to knock the opponent two our of three times wins.

In Duel, you have to knock your opponent off the platform using only your sword. It controls almost exactly as you would expect; swing the controller around and the sword does the same thing on-screen. However, you can also block by holding the "B-Trigger," which is crucial against decent opponents. When blocking, simply tilt the controller to change your defensive stance.

Tips

  • Blocking is important! Whenever you block an opponent's attacks, they'll left vulnerable for one or two attacks. Although they can still block your advances, they cannot attack while they're flailing.
  • To properly block an attack, hold "B" then move your sword so it 'crosses' your opponent's (forming an "X")--as long you keep your sword crossing theirs, you'll block their attack.
  • Faster attacks will knock your opponent back further, so don't hold back!

Stamps

Cliff-hanger

The final battle ring appears if the two opponents are still locked in a draw after three rounds. It doesn't matter whether you win or lose. You can get this stamp in single-player mode only.

    Tips:
  • To get to the final battle arena, you have to tie after three rounds. The easiest way to do this is to win one round, let your opponent win the next, then just block your opponent's attacks in the third until time runs out. You should now wind up in the final arena; simply win or lose to earn the stamp.

Straight to the Point

Push your opponent out of the ring with a lunge in single-player only.

    Tips:
  • Simply push your opponent to the ledge, using whichever attacks you like, then finish them off with a lunge.

Met Your Match

Draw three rounds in a row to get to the final battle ring, then draw again for a completely even match in single-player mode.

    Tips:
  • To get to the final battle arena, you have to tie after three rounds. The easiest way to do this is to win one round, let your opponent win the next, then just block your opponent's attacks in the third until time runs out. You should now wind up in the final arena; simply draw one more time (by blocking your opponents attacks) to earn the stamp.

One-Hit Wonder

Push your opponent out of the ring with only one strike in single player mode.

    Tips:
  • Continually block your opponents attacks to force them to the edge, then finish them off with a single attack.a

    Tips:
  • To get to the Champion, keep winning Duels against the computer. You'll eventually reach the champion. Good luck!

Secrets:

  • When playing single-player, finish the match in a draw to battle your opponent in a secret arena.
  • Your Mii will work up a very visible sweat if you swing your sword rapidly.

Swordplay: Speed Slice

  • Players 1, 2-Players Simultaneous (requires 2 Controllers)
  • Objective First to slice 10-objects properly wins

In Speed Slice, you need to chop various objects along the shown line before your opponent. Waving your sword around wildly won't cut it here, this one requires finesse. There's not much to this challenge: simply wait for the object to drop, then cut it along the line, as shown by the arrow. The first to do so earns a point; whoever earns 10 points first wins.

Tips

  • Between each slice, while waiting for the next object to appear, you should always hold your sword straight-ahead. This central position provides the quickest response time to any of the displayed slices; it also prevents accidental cutting the object while moving your sword into the proper starting position for the slice.

Stamps

Slide and Dice

Win the contest without missing a single object by slicing the wrong way or failing to slice within the time limit. You can only get this stamp in single-player mode.

    Tips:
  • You must beat your opponent to each object, while slicing the correct way! It can be tricky, which is why it's easiest to do this early on, at the lower difficulties.

Slicing Machine

Correctly slice at least one of each of the 18 types of objects in single-player mode. Different colors count as different types. You'll need to play several rounds to get them all.

    Tips:
  • Earning this stamp is just a matter of time. Just keep slicing the objects correctly and you'll earn it soon enough.

Psychic Slice

Cut an object correctly before it even hits the ground in single-player mode. You have to be psychic--or lucky--to pull this off.

    Tips:
  • This one's all luck. We suggest performing the same slash (such as up and down) repeatedly just after the sensei throws each object to ensure you chop it before it hits the ground. It may not be the correct slash, but you're bound to get it right eventually.

Double Time

Slice the alarm clock when the two digits on the display are the same, such as 8.8, 7.7, or 6.6. You can only get this stamp in single-player mode.

    Tips:
  • When the alarm clock appears, carefully wait for the digits to match then slash. It's best to wait until second 6 or 5 to give you more time to prepare, then begin your slash just before they line up to hopefully get the timing right. Just don't wait too long, otherwise you'll miss your chance!
  • This stamp cannot be earned in practice mode.

A Cut Above

Beat the Speed Slice champion.
    Tips:
  • To get to the Champion, keep winning Speed Slice matches against the computer. You'll eventually reach the champion. Good luck!

Secrets:

  • Your Mii will work up a very visible sweat if you swing your sword rapidly.

Swordplay: Showdown

  • Players 1-Player
  • Objective Defeat all of the attackers without dying

In Showdown mode, it's you versus 70 opponents! Your Mii automatically runs through the level, stopping whenever he or she encounters a group of enemies. It's then up to you to take them all down, while defending yourself from attacks. If you take three hits, it's game over. It starts off simple, but quickly ramps up in difficulty. As you battle through the waves, you'll encounter a couple different "boss" characters, with either two or three hearts each. It's especially important to utilize blocking when dealing with them, giving you a chance to attack while they're stunned.

If you've played Duel, then you should already be familiar with the controls: swing the controller around and the sword does the same thing on-screen. However, you can also block by holding the "B-Trigger," which becomes crucial later on. When blocking, simply tilt the controller to change your defensive stance.

Tips

  • In the early levels, waving your sword around randomly will do the trick...this won't work in the later levels, however.
  • Although you'll often be surrounded by enemies, only the one with hears above their head will attack. However, that doesn't mean you can't attack the others--try using wide swipes to take out several opponents at a time.
  • Blocking becomes very important later on, particularly against the "boss" characters. Thankfully, you can usually tell when they're as they'll draw their sword back first.
  • Immediately assume a defensive stance if your opponent blocks your attack, as they'll snappily counter with an attack of their own.
  • To properly block an attack, hold "B" then move your sword so it 'crosses' your opponent's (forming an "X")--as long you keep your sword crossing theirs, you'll block their attack.
  • In Reverse mode, you may want to play more defensively than before. Try blocking your opponent's attacks to stun them, giving you a chance to counter.

Table Tennis: Match

  • Players 1, 2-Players Simultaneous (requires 2 Controllers)
  • Objective First to 6-points wins

The Wii Remote becomes your paddle in this faithful recreation of Table Tennis. The first player to six-points wins, though you have to win by at last two. If not, the game will keep going until someone takes the lead. You'll score a point whenever you hit the ball past your opponent, or they return the ball without it touching your side of the table.

The controls are simple: hold the controller like a racket and swing it just like you would in real life. To serve, either press "A" or flick the Wii Remote up to toss the ball in the air, then hit it toward your opponent. For more advanced players, spin can be added to the ball simply by rotating the controller either forward (curving the ball to the left) or back (curving the ball to the right) just before the ball connects with your racket.

Table Titan

Beat the table-tennis champion in a match.

    Tips:
  • Continue beating opponents to eventually work your way up to the Champion. If it looks like you're losing a match, quickly pause to either start or quit before the match concludes to prevent it from damaging your record and setting you back.

Return Challenge

  • Players 1, 2, 3, 4-Players Sequentially
  • Objective Return as many serves as you can without missing a ball or hitting one out-of-bounds. Hit the bonus items for additional points.

In Return Challenge, you'll have to return an endless stream of balls until you either miss one or knock one out of bound. You'll score a point for each ball successfully returned. After returning 10 balls, pop cans will start appearing on the far-end of the table--try to hit them for a bonus three-points each!

The controls are simple: hold the controller like a racket and swing it just like you would in real life. Spin can be added to the ball simply by rotating the controller either forward (curving the ball to the left) or back (curving the ball to the right) just before the ball connects with your racket.

Wakeboarding

  • Players 1, 2, 3, 4-Players Sequentially
  • Objective Earn points by jumping off the wake and performing stunts

Catch a ride on a wake board as you're dragged behind a motorboat at high speed. The goal is to veer back and forth over the boat's wake, performing jumps and stunts to earn massive points. The controls are simple: hold the Wii Remote flat in both hands, then tilt it in the direction you wish to turn. The faster you cut across the wake, the higher your jump. While jumping alone will earn you some points, performing stunts is where it's really at. To perform a stunt, simply jerk the Wii Remote upward (toward the ceiling) as you cut across the wake--land the jump and you'll earn massive points. Now landing jumps can be tricky, as your board needs to be almost completely flat in order to avoid wiping out. Watch the board closely and adjust the tilt of the controller after each jump to ensure a smooth landing.

After successfully landing each jump, the boat will speed-up, allowing you to catch even more air off each jump, and thus earning more points. As you get better at Wakeboarding, you'll unlock a couple of more difficult courses. The only difference is now you have obstacles to avoids, such as the land-arches and buoys. If you smack into one, it'll force you to restart from a near-standstill, costing you airtime, and thus, points.

Tips

  • The faster you leap off the wake, the more points you'll earn. Start off wide and cut in sharp for top speed.
  • Watch out for obstacles! If you see some coming up, perform jumps closer to the wake to avoid slamming into them
  • Be wary of the buoys! If you see one, head around it from the inside, otherwise your rope will wrap around it and you'll wipe out!
  • In order to land successfully, you need to keep the board flat! Immediately after performing a jump, hold the Wii Remote flat (relative to the ground), then carefully watch the board and adjust its forward/back angle as necessary by tilting the controller either toward or away from the TV.
