Don't play it alone in the Dark....

No one cares about sound in todays video games, But this is a game that will make you think twice about the importance it has to a game as well as make you thank your lucky stars if you have a decent 5.1 system. I normally lead in with what I liked about the game, but I can not stress who amazing the use of 5.1 was in this game for X-Box. It was something that would make most of us jump. Tecmo has done an excellent job of using small background sounds and whispers of voices something that just set the table for a very scary and well thought out game, The Storyline is fantastic, it leaves the player always one fact short of the whole story then throws you for a loop, the clues that are left are errie and really sort of leave you with a chill up your spin. There are some aspects of the game that were simply thrown in there to keep you on your toes, but this is a game that you truly want to play from start to finish. The Graphics are average, but you have to keep in mind that it was ported over from a PS2 version, but when I compare the two there has been some cleaning up and the shadow effects and grayscaling is some area's is very well done. The gameplay is fairly straight forward but combat will take most players a bit longer then normal to get used to, alot of the battles are very difficult if you have not perfected your use of the Camera and which film to use in what situations. The puzzles are quite challenging for even the most seasoned RE and Silent Hill fan, Overall its something I would give a recomendation to, but if you are not a fan or the RE and Silent Hill sytle games this may not be the way to start off. -Z
