I played this game back in early 2000's for about 3 years; playing online multiplayer mode. The reason I gave it 9.0 & not a perfect 10 is because the single player mode was just dull and boring & wasn't very good at all. With that said this game really shined in multiplayer mode. The SPECIAL system & the various races to choose from made this game incredibly addictive in multiplayer games & got me hooked for about 3 years until 2004 when NWN1 came out (*note: I'm still playing NWN1 multiplayer mode to date). After NWN1 perhaps the second best game I had the chance to own and play in my 10 year gaming history. The online community was also great & I made a lot of friends on the way. As a owner of both Fallout 1 & 2, I would have to say fallout tactics is the best one out of the series. As already mentioned this game shined in its online appeal; which is obviously non-existent 8 years on since this game was released in 2001 so most players would have moved on as I did, however, for those of us that had the privilege & pleasure to play it back in the day...it was a good run....AMEN.
