Bethesda does it again with Fallout: New Vegas

User Rating: 9.5 | Fallout: New Vegas PS3
Truth to be told, I have not completed the game. There are so many things to do and a lot of places for you to explore it are impossible you can do it within a few days. As I progress to the game, I really love it!

There is a common theme where I cannot seem to concentrate on a single mission. There is just too many things to look at but it's not that I hate it. You can have a decision to go from A to B, then see a house in the middle of nowhere and proceed to check it. While you're at it, suddenly a bunch of Geckos will jump on you or suddenly you stumbled upon new areas and find more distractions from your original idea.

The story is hard to review now as I'm only a couple of hours into the game. But like Fallout 3, the story and side quests are just as entertaining as the main storyline and when you start the game, it feels like you can never run out of quests to do. I do not know for you guys but I am connected to some of the groups. As of now, I am vilified by some groups while some others view me as a saint. This is a change from Fallout 3 and I really love this mechanic of this game.

As the Gamespot review suggests, there are technical bugs in the game. But it has not stopped me from realizing how great this game is. On certain occasions, I saw characters using non-existent objects like typing on an invisible keyboard or holding an invisible weapon but it never really affected the gameplay.

Another negative point is how the new creation system works. It is a little boring for me and I only occasionally used it. I do not think it is worth collecting ten animal pelts to make some kind-of-potion. But I know some of you guys out there loved this new mechanic, I know my friend does. So it is just me.

Weapons have nice variety of weapons, armor, clothes, food, medicine and other everyday objects you can find. Its great that you have many choices of weapons and armor and finding ammunition is not that hard, (its even better if you have the Scrounger Perk) as you can find it easily and if you Caps, you can easily buy or repair your stuff.

Overall, this is an excellent game. Bethesda has done it again, now with Obsidian. Here's to hoping that Gamespot will increase their score to 9 like most other reviewers gave. This is one addicting game and one that I'm going to clock in hours after hours.
