Fallout 3 Is Such An Amazing Game That I Often Forget Why I Dislike This Genre.

Truth be told, I'm not a big fan of open-ended video games and I've never been fond of online games and RPGs either. I've played Guild Wars, Oblivion, Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy but none of these games ever make me want to continue until the end. However, when I gave Fallout 3 a try, I was hooked.

Fallout 3 is definitely the most creative and well-diversified Role-Playing Game I've ever seen in my life and I'm still in shock in how good it is. What makes the game so great is the overall setting and plot. Rather than telling stories about aliens, monsters, dragons, knights, medievals, and all those mumbo jumbo cliché stuff, Fallout 3 is about experiencing a post-apocalyptic nuclear war era and the year is 2277. It's a clever and an original idea to put together.

I will not explain the overall plot in this review because I'd assume you guys will know about it by now. So the only thing I can provide you here is to give you my honest opinion about the game and to sum it all up- I love it! Fallout 3 has many contents all cramped up in one disc and it's amazing how the developers managed to squeeze all the greatness together in one game.

What I enjoy the most about Fallout 3 is the mission objectives. It's so fun to explore the different regions in the map and to complete the missions given. I also enjoy talking to the inhabitants of Vault 101, Megaton and many more because they have so many things to talk about. It feels so rewarding to do something good and hear them praising you for being such a great person.

The other best part of Fallout 3 is the action and good gosh, I love the way the weapons have a graphical effect to the environment. Practically any weapons you carry can cause serious damage to your enemies and it's fun playing with the VATS and see bodies getting blown to chucks and heads getting decapitated like mad. Upgrading your character is a whole lot of fun too as you can level him/ her up to make them more agile, more sneaky, stronger or a better pickpocket. The game encourages you to be more adventurous so your character can be a better person and I like that.

The audio in the game is fantastic. The sound effects are amazing and the voice acting is spot on too with a great number of cast such as Liam Neeson, Malcolm McDowell, Ron Perlman, and Odette Yustman. The music is also fabulous especially with the radio songs you get to play during gameplay and it's pretty nostalgic and exciting to listen to classical and oldies.

I believe that's all I have to say about Fallout 3 and I highly recommend giving this game a purchase. Normally RPG and online games aren't my cup of tea because I'm more into the straightforward ones but Fallout 3 is a great exception for me. There are some minor flaws here and there but nothing that will discourage you from having a great time. The game can be a little repetitive however because the objectives follow the same pattern over and over and you may find yourself feeling numb killing bad guys and going from A to point B repeatedly. That's one of the reason why I don't play this kind of game but Fallout 3 has such an amazing storyline, many interesting people to talk to and has such an imaginative concept that I often forget why I dislike this genre.

Once again, Fallout 3 is a beautiful game and I do encourage you to play this game with open arms.
