This is the fastest game ever made.

User Rating: 8.5 | F-Zero X N64
The fastest game ever made is F-Zero X. Even a decade after it was released, it's still the fastest game ever made. What makes this so surprising is that it was made on the N64 in 1997. Although back in 1997, the N64 was the most advanced video game console in existence, being over three times more powerful than the original Playstation, but having a game that is so intense with so many things going around on screen at 60 fps was mind boggling. Sure, some say the game's graphics lacked detail, but these are the best and most fluid graphics on any system at the time. Why is this the fastest game alive? Because of the remarkable sense of speed it gives. Way faster than WipEout, the track just fly across you and if you blink, you will most likely crash. Not only that, with 30 other racers on screen at once going at that speed, it can get pretty chaotic as cars smash into each other and some blow up. That's because of your power meter. By pressing B, you can start a speed boost, at the expense of your power meter. The lower the meter is, the easier it is for your car to get destroyed. If you keep crashing into walls or other cars and vice versa, you probably are going to lose a life. The faster you go also the harder it is to turn around. So make sure you only use your speed boost on straight tracks, otherwise your car will explode.

There is some great strategy on this game. You can change your car attributes to be better on acceleration, or better for speed. If the track you will race has a lot of turns, you better turn down speed and put up acceleration. But if the track is full of straight tracks and loop-di-loops and no turns, use the speed! If you use the speed, the slower it is for you to start at the beginning of the race, but you will be very fast afterward. If you put all your power on acceleration, you start up very fast, but you top speed ain't that great, perfect for tracks with lots of turns. The game itself is very fun, but you should hear the sound. It sounds great! From the catchy rock and roll tunes to the sound effects, these sounds just add immensely to the experience. Especially the sense of speed. Going at Mach 4 thru those tracks with that sound just feels right. The game also has a nice multiplayer mode. Not as good as Mario Kart 64 or Smash Bros, but it's still very fun. If you haven't played this game yet, you better buy and download it now from the Wii Shop Channel. You are missing out.
