Well, it's another shooter...

Still in the early stages of the game, but I've got to say I'm not motivated to play. the original F.E.A.R. and subsequent sequels and add-ons were great. I still jump at certain scenes. This is an arcade shooter. That's it. It's almost liek the devlopers said "let's make a game where you get guns and kill people". Sound familiar? LIke just about every other shooter ever made. The thrill factor is what made F.E.A.R. unique. I was really looking forward to the third installment and finally, hopefully confronting and finishing Alma and Fettel. Sadly, it doesn't appear to be there. Every once in a while, almost as an afterthought, you get a little cutscene with Alma or Fettel, but it doesn't add to the story or give it direction. You just go from place to place, randomly shooting the bad guys. It's okay, if uninspired. I'll probably finish it but it will never make the "classic games" list like Bioshock or Crysis.
Update: even on easy difficulty, way too hard. Not fun anymore. Might not finish.
Update#2: Right at the end of Interval #5. Not worth the aggravation. EASY difficulty is supposed to be EASY. Not even a resemblance to the first F.E.A.R. games. Just getting killed over and over again in a run of the mill shooter is just plain aggravating. I rerally don't care how it ends and I don't care about any future installments in the F.E.A.R. franchise. Could be because Warner Bros made it instead of Sierra, I really don't know and don't care. Game deleted.
