The second steps back, the third steps forward.

User Rating: 8.5 | F.E.A.R. 3 PC
Having finished all of the F.E.A.R. games in the series (including all of the released expansions/dlc's) I had clearly thought I'd seen it all. Damn I was wrong.

This sequel may not contain the same 'horror' level the first two prequels had, however, if you're in for a scare here; even if there's only a few moments of those, they're done right and not abused of.

The core shooting has improved dramatically since the second game and it's expansion; 'Reborn' came out. The slow-mo effects, artificial intelligence and the general in-game physics have had a tweak ALTHOUGH unfortunately the levels feel way too linear compared to the brilliant and massive original F.E.A.R.

Having seen the first trailers of this new title my expectations were minimum; the game seemed lacking and the footage made this look as if it's going to be solely released for co-op purposes and well; as they say:

"Don't judge a book by it's cover"

____

That quote applies perfectly in this sequel. Give this a try and you'll know what I'm talking about. Another thing; IGNORE, and I mean literally IGNORE all the latest official reviews from sites such as this one as it seems the editors clearly either have other games in mind and/or simply want to attract attention on the website just for having 'mixed' reviews.

Always go for the user votes to acknowledge games.

Graphics: (9) It's no Crysis but it definitely surpasses F.E.A.R 2
Sound (9) Blends in pretty good with the disturbing atmospheres.
Gameplay (10) It'll absorb you in and won't let go easily
Multiplayer (10) Best I've seen this whole year, you'll love it.
