Very ground-breaking. Amazing designs, just comes to show what the 360 is capable of. Worth the buy. short and simple.

Eternal Sonata is not exactly a game to judge by first impression. Especially not on the front cover. This game has given me the opportunity to experience next-gen gaming differently to any other game I've played. Playing a game like this showed a break from other RPG's. Well to sum up everything I've (like in other reviews) divided into different subsections.

1. Story - A captivating story about the famous French composer Frédéric François Chopin. I dont want to spoil much at all for you since the length of the game is short, but as the story goes on, it literally grows more and more intense, beautiful and completley meaningful.

2. Characters - Are structually designed perfectly for a fantasy game. Although the voice acting is not THE BEST, its still good enough to convey the story and keep interested.

3. Environments - Extremely stunning! I cannot stress how eye-candy these environments are. Although some environments are very single pathed and small, the game's visual intention to capture the players' eyes works perfectly. The environements truly show very important aspects to the storyline and to the main character (play to see for yourself :D).

4. Gameplay - As you proceed through the game, gameplay becomes much more intense! From new game, starts really simple and grows faster. Excessive use of the shade and light areas in the battle scene environments can be fun, although can sometimes be annoying since your time bar can actually waste by the time you physically walk into the sunlight (for eg.).
Gameplay REALLY consists of quick strategy. Even if players are not quick in strategy, they are BOUND to train their minds as the game proceeds.

Unlike other rpg's, it is a mix between turn-based and not turn-based :P. once you have your turn, you must walk around and hit the living crud out of the foes on the field. After certain amounts of hits, you grow Echoes which helps your party to hit harder, and chain moves like an all-out attack.

5. Length - Approx. 30 hours, although I wish it lasted longer, the ps3 version has more levels.

6. Extras - They are not that motivating to work for. Music score sheets to impress random people in the streets to get rare items. PS3 version, provides more extras though. It provides extra characters, extra costumes and an extra alternate ending.

Overall, I've had a lot of fun with this game for the above reasons. Although there are a few downsides to the game. As a gamer, I have not experience something so different to RPG's. Very well done Bandai - Namco :D

Thank you for reading my review!!
