A great rpg accompanied with a stellar soundtrack.

Eternal Sonata is an easy rpg. I could say it be very easy, albeit that would do the game no justice. You can easily accrue 100k gold in the first chapter and need not a single more. In the game's several chapters you come across several characters whom you may/may not like; from a tomboyish archer, twins with different hair color, to a guy who wields a huge broadsword (and does the most dps imo).

The game is easy on the first run via the photo snap shots skill by the character beat. You'll be surprised that each shot can net over 7k-20k in gold. Of course, it is the gameplay that countenances in difficutly. The bosses can dish out a stupendous amount of damage, and if you do not block their attack you will receive the damage twenty fold.

Achievement wise, it's quite easy to get the first 300 or so, but it will require a second playthrough in order to attain the full 1000. After beating the final boss, encore mode (which is ng+) is enabled. This is where the difficulty ramps up, and imo could have possibly been the 'normal' mode first intended. Regardless, you can still garnish a hoard of wealth thanks to beat, grind (as every rpg should), and muddle your way through to the end.

Overall, this is a great game. The linearity and common cliche' themes are there as usual, although if you're looking for something fresh, entertaining and has a stellar soundtrack, Eternal Sonata should fulfill that desire.
