A fun game for any true Gundam fan! Very much improved over the first "Dynasty Warriors: Gundam" game.

I for one have to strongly disagree with the GameSpot review. Where they even playing the same game I played?

The GameSpot reviewer complains about the bad graphics. Where, exactly, do the graphics look bad? They look great to me. The mobile suits and world are very detailed, and overall I think it looks great. Perhaps it's not the most beautiful game I've ever seen, but it's far from being "ugly".

No sense of scale? There are plenty of vehicles, tanks, trees, buildings and so on scattered throughout the field. If those don't show a sense of scale than I don't know what does...

Bad voice acting? Again, where they playing the same game I have? Maybe it's not the best voice acting ever, but it's not bad by any means. I felt the voice actors and actresses did quite well in the game. I have no complaints.

The game is not boring by any means, either. Of course this is all just a matter of opinion, but I find the game to be quite fun. Okay, I can agree that the button-mashing can get rather annoying, but I really don't think that it makes the game monotonous or boring. I don't really enjoy games with endless button-mashing (heck, I don't really even like the Dynasty Warriors series), but I have enjoyed "Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2".

I really don't agree in the slightest bit with the GameSpot review. Perhaps my own review sounds like a rant or bash on GameSpot, but I don't mean it to be as such. I only want to share my opinion.

Now, let me get to my review...

I haven't gotten very far in this game quite yet, and have only completed one Official Mode character and one Mission Mode character. I may update this again once I've gotten farther into the game.

Perhaps you have to be a Gundam fan to enjoy this game (which, judging by past Gundam game reviews, the GameSpot people are not), but I've found this game to be quite enjoyable. As I said above I really don't even like the Dynasty Warriors games, and never really have. However, I've really enjoyed Dynasty Warriors: Gundam and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2.

Both games have a ton of characters and mobile suits to unlock, and a ton of missions to play... Although the missions to tend to feel rather similar after a while and most tend to have the same objectives of "capture all fields" or "destroy this enemy". Because of this the levels don't feel very imaginative and feel rather repetitive.
Does this make the game boring? No. Does it hurt the game? Maybe a little bit. The game isn't breathtaking by any means, but the unimaginative missions don't ruin the game.

Multiplayer is... different. Personally I haven't had much luck with multiplayer. I've only been able to do War Mode, and only twice at that. I can never seem to find any games to connect to and no one ever seems to join games I host. I don't know if it's just that I'm getting on at a bad time, or if there's some connection problem or what's going on. Because of this I really can't say much about the multiplayer side of this game... Though from what I have played, I've enjoyed it.

The single-player game is, of course, what I've played the most and I have greatly enjoyed. Official Mode follows the story of the various UC series' quite well, with a few changes here and there to fit in better with the Dynasty Warriors game... For example, when the White Base was entering Earth's atmosphere in episode 4, Amuro never had to fight 700 Zaku II's...
Other than that the stories match up pretty well.
Mission Mode, of course, does not follow any of the series. These are basically stories that were written for the game and involve the characters from most of the various Gundam series' (no Gundam 00, unfortunately). The stories can be a little hard to follow at times, but it's not really all that difficult. It hasn't really bothered me, anyway.

Perhaps it's just because I'm a huge Gundam fan, but I've really enjoyed this game a lot. I enjoyed the first one, and the second one feels bigger and better. It feels much more improved over the first game.
There are more mobile suits, more missions, and more to do. "Building" mobile suits is an interesting twist, and finding ways to unlock various missions and characters is neat. It's got a lot of replayability and a lot to enjoy.

This game isn't for everyone. It's one of those games where you either love it or hate it. But if you're a Gundam fan (especially of the UC series, such as the original "Mobile Suit Gundam", and even "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam") than it's definitely work checking out. Please, don't pass on this game because of the crappy GameSpot review. Try it yourself and get your own opinion.
