Dungeon Siege III

Great combat, immersive visuals.

I picked this game up late. It was on sale on Gamestop (impulse) so I picked it up. I must say that I am glad I did.

First, the visuals are astounding. The textures, lighting, and especially the shadows - all top notch.

The audio is also perfect imo. Great ambient audio and sound effects.

The combat is where this game really shines. Fast, fluid, and enjoyable. The interface does its job well. I highly recommend using a 360 controller for this game. You will find it much more enjoyable.

If you were a big fan of DS 1 and/or 2 or are expecting the typical RPG, you might not appreciate this game for what it is.This game is more of an action/adventure with RPG elements sprinkled in.

The quests are straight forward and while the world is fairly large, it does not waste your time with aimless wandering. Some may find this as a turn off, but speaking as someone who has limited time, it is much appreciated.

All in all, I'm looking forward to a DS4 in this same format.

  There are games that are reinvented with new formulas and made better for it. Dungeon Siege III is NOT ONE OF THEM.
