Beautiful game with a deep story and enoyable characters.

I tend to agree about the camera issue, though I have yet ( several hours in) to experience what you did. The angle just doesn't allow enough territory to make the game easier to play and view sweeping scenery, but it gets the job done if you don't concentrate on it endlessly; ie; its not that big of a deal, at all. I totally disagree , however, that its not memorable, in that the scenery is just beautiful to me with incredible lighting use and shaders, even though they cheat a bit with the backgrounds, compared to DS1/2. I don't mind it though, because as a gamer, I judge a game for its inherent interest , visual appeal and story, and this didn't disappoint me for the most part. If you want it for $20, its there on steam atm, and at that price its a great deal, imho.

So what about the MP part not allowing you to keep anything. I consider that a challenge , and it keeps the game refreshing by stopping users from coming in just for the pleasure of being a loot whor*, like could be done in diablo, etc. That to me, is a GOOD thing.

I also do not care about being limited, initially, to just me and a companion because it makes the game more challenging , and actually easier to keep track of everything going on at once. I think we need to 'get used' to such things possibly, as developers look for ways to keep more of their money while keeping visuals and questing elements broader, and this game does that effectively.

I love the idea of turning items into gold, as it keeps you from incessantly having to go back and forth getting rid of loot > money. That was a wonderful idea, and as noted, you don't have to leave anything behind.

I also like the games visual effects, though I prefer less 'flaming' and more general magic to dispatch enemies, as Im really not the 'inflict pain & agony' type of person.

I was sad to see the length so short, but that is just compared to DS1/2, so I guess those of us who finished those games are a bit biased, and maybe those who did not, care less about that, and concentrate on the quality of the experience.

OH and btw, mashing buttons and caSting magic, is no different than DS1 or 2 ,short of some in game physics puzzles and such. All games are quite similar, unless your playing myst. Even oblivion is no different; it can just take longer to run into enemies due to the size of the world, but at the end of the day, its just a twitch game spun with quests , and lots of 'loot'.
