I was so excited when I heard there was a 3rd installment of Dungeon Siege coming out. I played the first two years ago, and loved them. They ranked as some of my favourite games. I even pre-purchased DS3 through Steam ... they had an offer ... buy DS3 and get DS1 and DS2 for free. When DS3 came out, I installed it, and played it for about 25 minutes. The console like feel seemed all wrong (I don't own a console for a reason). The character attributes didn't make much sense. I felt like I was playing a Mario game, wandering around with a flashy sword swinging round. And why can I only save at the beacons? There are so many differences between DS1/2 and this, it's hard to identify them all. It's like being sold a 2011 Mustang and finding out it's really just a re-packaged Yugo.
Maybe I would like it more if they didn't pretend it was part of the Dungeon Siege series. On the bright side, I'm enjoying playing Dungeon Siege 1 again ...
