Duke Nukem Forever is about as disappointing as you can get.

User Rating: 3.5 | Duke Nukem Forever X360
'Duke Nukem, you had a lot of history behind the scenes.' Started as a side-scroller to a first person shooter. Duke Nukems games had been entertaining as hell, especially Duke 3D. Then of course, Forever came along, said to be the biggest delay of all time. Spreading over 15 years. So, after all this time, is DUKE NUKEM FOREVER the masterpiece it said it'll be? HELL NO!

PROS: It took 15 years but Its finally released. Dukes one-liners is still fun to listen to. A Lengthy Campaign. Shrink-Ray can be fun to use for a while.

CONS: Outdated Graphics and terrible Frame-rate issues. Long-ass Loading Screens. Too many Driving, and...platforming sessions and not much shooting. Mulitplayer is extremely old-school. RegeneratingHealth and 2 Weapon Limit. Ending is S**t. Enemy AI is poor.

When Duke Nukem Forever was announced...umm...again, i was jumping out of my chair and screeming 'FINALLY!! YEAH!' Basically, i was hyped. So i pre-ordered it, and then i looked at the reviews, then i said, 'I knew this was coming." Played it, didn't like it. But, hey! At least it got released, huh?

Duke Nukem Forever took over 15 years, and after all this time, THIS is what we get. A generic, sterotypical modern FPS like Call of Duty or Halo. Down to the Regenerating Health and 2 weapon limit. THATS DOESN'T FIT DUKE AT ALL!

So, you may think after 15 years, that they would take their time to make the graphics look amazing. You know, what they been trying to do for over 15 years? NO! It looks extremely outdated, and the frame-rate is all over the place. And to make it even worse, the loading screens are Loooooonnnnnggg! In fact, i clocked it once, it 50 seconds. 50 SECONDS??!! Are you INSANE! And to make it worse if you die right at the beginning, it has to load all over again!!!

Well, the gameplay has little to no shooting, how can you make a Duke Nukem game, and have little to no shooting? Instead, you got driving stages, and...sigh....platforming. ARE YOU F***KING SERIOUS??! Driving and Platforming in a Duke Nukem. Now, i don't mind the Driving stages that much, the problem though is that theres too many of them!! Theres like 4 of them. But the problem is platforming. In a FPS? Look, only one FPS did that justice, and thats Mirrors Edge. We don't need more of this. We also don't need the lame puzzles either in Duke Forever. At least the game has a good vaiety of a weapons, favorite being the shrinkray. And Dukes one-liners will make you laugh. But, When you actually play a stage that actually HAS shooting. The Enemy AI just stay out in the open, or just suicide charge at you, OR just keep shooting at you from a distance constantly. I do have one question, though, wheres the Jet-Pack? It was in Duke Nukem 3-D, so where is it in Forever? Regenerating Health and 2 weapon limit is probably the worst of it, it doesn't feel nothing like Duke. Instead, we got Driving and Platforming, with little to no shooting. Thats what makes Duke Nukem Forever so boring.

You'll get about 12-15 hours of a campaign, but the question is will you even WANT to go thru all of it? It even ends with an abysmal ending. So...it seems they want to just get this game released, a.k.a rush it out the door.

Well, we only got one thing to discuss, the multiplayer. Which be summed up in 2 words. Too Old. You got your standard modes. People constantly spam you with rocket launchers, and also glitches, and texture pop-in ruins the fun.

It just goes to show you that the longest game development cycle won't even be an excuse to this game. Duke Nukem Forever is about as disappointing as you can get. It sucks! If you want to experince the...umm...'experience'....that took 15 years. Don't. However, if it goes into the bargin bin, which it will, maybe you can pick it up to experince the longest game development of alltime.

But other than that....sigh....STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME! You'll be glad if you did. I promise you.
