Not as great as it should be after all those years, but still it is a good FPS filled with grotesque and hot chicks.

First of all everyone should note that DUKE NUKEM FOREVER IS NOT A TYPICAL FIRST PERSON SHOOTER.
We have been waiting for Duke Nukem Forever so many years and finally the game was released. I am sure most of us still remember the one and only Duke Nukem 3D which is a legendary title now. We were hoping that the sequel will be as awesome or even better. After 12 years we have a unique opportunity to find out if Duke Nukem Forever lives up to its legend.
The story takes place 12 years after the events from Duke Nukem 3D. King Duke is rich and has a huge skyscraper only for himself. He is a national hero so everyone loves him, especially hot chicks hehe. Unfortunetaly, the sweet days came to an end because USA was attacked by aliens. "Come get some" Duke Nukem decided to save the world once again. Nobody messes with Duke and his chicks that is why "It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of bubblegum."
Duke Nukem Forever is a solid FPS overall and I totally disagree with so many low ratings which are definitely unfair. This is not a bad game. This is a very specific title dedicated especially for fans. Duke Nukem Forever is an old-school FPS which not all gamers will understand and appreciate. What is more, comparing this title to Call of Duty series or Crysis 2 is a huge mistake because Duke Nukem Forever was not meant to be a Call of Duty or Crysis 2 killer. This is a completely different installment and experience. We play Duke Nukem because we simply want to have fun. We want to hear all Duke's jokes and see hot chicks. We play it because we love the grotesque. Duke is very sarcastic, cocky and laid-back just like the game itself. This first person shooter is filled with grotesque which many people will simply do not understand and like. We play Duke Nukem Forever because it is Duke Nukem – a king of all FPS games.
The gameplay itself is pretty good. Many elements in the environment is destructible and touchable (Duke can piss, throw a vibrator, write on a whiteboard or even pick up pooh – it is sick I know hehe). We have all the legendary weapons: mighty boot (hell yeah!), golden pistol (no more Desert Eagle, do not know why), shotgun, rocket launcher, freezethrower, devastator, pipe bombs, machine-gun and many more. Aliens and fat pigs do not have a chance. In the game, we will also be able to drive monster truck and other vehicles. Duke Nukem Forever offers many platforming elements which can be both fun and frustrating. They are not properly refined unfortunately. While playing the game, Duke meets many hot chicks on his way. Too bad the animation is unrealistic. Also there is not much of nudity in this game, which is sad because in this title, nudity and hot women should be in the first place. We will see some hot babes in Duke's strip club, but not many which is again sad. It seems that the developers were too scared to show something more. CD Projekt Red (The Witcher series) should teach them. Some of the missions are often boring and on the other hand, some of them will bring a huge smile on our faces because they are awesome. A smile on our faces will be seen especially during Duke's one-line jokes and quick time events. Unfortunately, I have got the feeling that something important is missing in this game. Something which definitely Duke Nukem Forever should have but it has not. "On the other hand" should be the theme of this installment. Why? Because the whole game is like: On the one hand Duke Nukem Forever is awesome and funny, but on the other hand it is boring and even frustrating. There should be more non-shooting elements where we could interact with hot women in the strip club and etc. Maybe it is strange, but things like making popcorn or signing autographs make this game old-school and fun for me. These mini games are Duke Nukem trademark. If somebody does not like them, or consider them boring then he or she should not play this title. Like I wrote before, this is not a typical shooter.
One of the things which really drive me mad in this game, are the loading screens which are definitely too long. This is one of the biggest disadvantages of Duke Nukem Forever.
The graphics in Duke Nukem Forever are definitely the weakest element of this game. The animation is awful, the environment and textures have really low resolution. I saw an alien ship which was made in 2D (sick!)! These are definitely not next generation (now current generation) visual effects.
The music is really good. If you like metal and hard rock like me, then you will like the soundtrack. Duke voice is a masterpiece once again and the weapons noises are pretty good.
"What about the game Duke? Was it any good"? "Yeah, but after 12 f#cking years it should be". All in all, Duke Nukem Forever is a solid FPS which every Duke's fan will definitely appreciate and like it. After all those years, the game is not as great as it should be. What is more, it is not a "high class" shooter, sometimes the game is simply boring, but still it is really worth to play this title because of many funny moments and some hot chicks. As a Duke's fan, I will definitely buy the sequel. "Hail to the king baby"!
