Electronic Arts today announced that it plans to release a Nintendo DS version of The Urbz: Sims in the City this November. Currently in development at EA, in conjunction with Griptonite Games, the DS version of the game will boast a number of features not found in its PC, home console, or GBA counterparts.

"We're thrilled that this new franchise is the first from Electronic Arts to illustrate the power of the Nintendo DS," said Sinjin Bain, vice president and executive producer. "On the Nintendo DS, we are able to do things with The Urbz: Sims in the City that we could not do with any other console. Like the system itself, this game is completely unique. Never before have Sims players been able to unleash their alter egos in an urban environment--complete with the sounds, scenes, and settings of the city."

The Urbz: Sims in the City--as the title suggests--sees the sims moving to the city of Miniopolis, where reputation is everything. Features exclusive to the DS version of the game will include a wireless multiplayer mode, touch-screen input, 24 objects, five minigames, seven characters, and eight species of pets that players can create using the in-game gene manipulator.

We'll bring you more information on the Nintendo DS version of The Urbz: Sims in the City as soon as it becomes available.
