Interesting concept, disastrous implementation.

Dreamlords is a mix between RTS, online gaming and...uh, a browser game.

In the RTS part of the game you take your Dreamlord (Hero, Main Tank, whatever) out on a stroll to beat up the bad guys with the help of a small number of support troops.
You're pitted against either a rudimentary AI that seems to be limited to about 3 different scripts or another human who would experience a little difference explaining to you why he/she is enjoying this game at all.

That's because the 3 different "factions" in the game show little variance if any, sharing the same concepts of just 4 different unit types, and can be upgraded with marvels like +2% armor.

The research tree - implemented through web browser technology as the developers could not do any better so you keep tabbing around those windows - does offer as much joy as upgrading those units indeed.
Upgrade a building to be able to increase its revenues to be able to upgrade the building... repeat this 10 times and you'll get the hang of it.

Oh, and about the online thingie: Everything happens online, which means the developers want you to pay lots of Dollars/Euros/Yen/Sheep to gain an advantage over other players by the power of your wallet alone.
But don't get me wrong! Dreamlords is f2p for sure! *Snickers*

All in all... Forget about it.

Just because i feel like offering an alternative today i could suggest "Runes of Magic" for the MMORPG players out there, as i managed to become Top Dog in several aspects in this f2p game on my server without ever spending a single real penny on it... (a hobby of mine, how far can you get in f2p without actually paying?)
Or maybe "Darkspace" for the niche players, old spaceship action with major recent overhauls?
