Even if you are not an RPG fan, I would recommend you give this game a second look!

Dragon Quest VIII should be in every RPG fans collection. This game is a must see and a must have! I normally recommend you rent a game first but in the case of DQ8 I think you can risk it, lol! It is definitely the best RPG of 2005 and in close contention as being the best RPG of all time (up to this point of course, I am not psychic). It would take a real RPG hater to find flaws with this game. In fact even if you are not an RPG fan, I would recommend you give this game a second look!
The Good:
Graphics: The graphics are great and very appropriate for the setting. Dragon Ball Z fans will fall in love!
Sound: It is a journey back to older; simpler gaming times. Ah, you will reminisce and love every sound. The voice work was amazing, one of the best I have ever experienced!
Storyline: It is a wonderful storyline, mixing in a lot of humor to keep the serious level down to a minimum. You will not only find yourself laughing, but you will look back on this game fondly.
Camera: I had absolutely no problems with the camera, it was perfect and error free! The game was made with real love!
Fighting System: Although your basic turn base, you will not be bored. There is enough selection and strategy to keep you interested and wanting more.
Extras: To avoid spoilers I will try not to reveal too much, however there are plenty of extras, side quests, casinos, monster list, alchemy, and so much more!
The Bad:
There is nothing wrong with this game! The only improvement I would have suggested is adding more casino games. I got bored with the selection and really needed some black jack, poker, or just some unique DQ8 creation. Although I have no complaints about the games they offered, they were just so good I wanted even more!
The Ugly:
This game is a "beauty queen!"
