A great RPG similar to Pokemon

User Rating: 8.5 | Dragon Quest V: Tenkuu no Hanayome DS
Rating break down:

-.5 for view, its sort of annoying to see in first person in battles when you have multiple teammates, other then this, the graphics are pretty good.

-1 for missing something, the something that should take the place of rather annoying fetch-quest and level grinding.

Difficulty and time spent:

The game seems difficult at times, but its really just right. I found that no boss can't be beaten with a little level grinding, but the game is at its best when you don't have to level grind and progress at a more natural rate. There isn't much replay value, but the main story will take long enough to satisfy you.

Gameplay

The gameplay is similar to most turn based RPGs, you assemble a party, raise their levels and teach them different techniques, and then test how well they are by progressing through the story. Aside from the main gameplay, I found that the in-game casino is the most enjoyable in-game gambling I've ever experienced, you don't always lose, I've found myself winning big on multiple occasions, but you don't win enough to sweep out all the rare items.

Summary

A great game, Pokemon fans looking for something new should consider this game, as should any fan of the DQ series. If you prefer action games, you can still try it out, but it most likely won't meet your standards.
