Disaster, Money Hoarders Continue to Milk

User Rating: 1 | Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi X360
In this game, you're watching either you kicking someone's ass or them kicking your's more than you're actually playing the game.

CONS:

1- The camera and controls in Ultimate Tenkaichi are bad: Maneuvering around can be frustrating and unless you know what you're doing, all your opponent needs is one hit on you and for you to fail on the "Rock, Paper, Scissors" combat feature, and you're left sitting there watching your character flung around like a ragdoll until you're dead. Combo system is not practical.

2- Character style and animation is bad in comparison with most Dragon Ball Z games. Character animations seem awkward at times - Clothing moves unnaturally sometimes. Character facial animations are bad, the voice syncing being so badly off most of the time makes the game difficult to look at.

3- Most of the features and modes are just repeats and copies of what are available in previous games. If one did say this game even tried to innovate at all, one could also say that they took some new ideas and executed them in a very awful way; most of it was so poorly done due to the fact it was all rushed. Most of the game feels rushed and it ruins the experience.

4- Character Creation isn't great, considering your options are so limited. A couple random voices, and bad clothing customization. You can't make Female Saiyans, which makes one think that 'Dragon Ball' must only be for boys.

5- Online Mode / Tournament Mode is a complete disgrace to Online Fighters. It's hard enough as it is to find a match at any given time - you're given merely a few seconds to choose a character before it chooses for you. In Tournament mode, you are not able to spectate other matches if you lose, you will only be able to leave. After a Tournament, you're abruptly removed from the game and sent back to the Online menu, and not to the game's lobby where you should be brought, to initiate another Tournament if desired. Instead, this game does just about everything in its Super Saiyan power to make things less convenient for you and your fellow players. UPDATE: Each match has a timelimit of 3 minutes and cannot be changed..

6- Character Roster is weak. Budokai Tenkaichi 3 had hundreds of characters (Most in any fighting game) - and that game was still more balanced than Ultimate Tenkaichi. Ultimate should have had a different title, considering the games in the "Tenkaichi" series before it, were mostly better games, despite that they were still bordering "pretty bad" themselves. Tenkaichi 3 didn't suffer with all the sound issues Ultimate has, such as the horrific voice syncing, scene to scene visual errors, glitches, and incomplete system all together.

7- UPDATE: Story (and Narration) was apparently rushed. As the game progresses, typos become more apparent in the text narration. There is no side-scroller for the text narration in case you want to read it faster. Skipping much of the story narration may result in player's confusion. Chunks of the story's important parts were skipped - Movie timelines abruptly jump into the Story Mode at times that don't match the Story's chronological timeline.

8- Character voice syncing is obviously off - Unprofessional and rushed work. This was something not even seen in previous Dragon Ball Z games. This was a rushed game, only there to bring in some greens for a greedy money hoarder. It's a disgrace to the legendary series, and a spit in the faces of all the fans, and a rape to women.

9- UPDATE: BOSS battles and chase sequences are very tedious and unenjoyable. If your reaction speed isn't the best, you're looking to get really frustrated, as the system isn't forgiving.

This game is a disaster, and another nail to go into the DBZ coffin - I'm so appalled at how bad this game is, I have to wonder if they're TRYING to kill the franchise.

PROS: It's still DBZ.
