Bioware came up with a game so good and so versitile that makes me think why the hell other RPG developer sucks!

User Rating: 9.5 | Dragon Age: Origins (Collector's Edition) PC
First of all, I always thought that a few (cough......) company that developed RPG have a notorious reputation of not giving any damn platform for the PC version. First I heard of Dragon Age: Origin. I thought its gonna be like another silly RPG game with mindless violents and sexual arousing game. But I was wrong. I'm a Malaysia, and here I will give you points on the game.

I never thought that the game itself is far more than just that. I has a powerful, well developed and immersive storytelling. Along with dazzling good graphics(provided your computer is decent enought with a ATi 2400), freedom to progress anywhere you like, do whatever you like, act whenever you like. You can be the most saint Grey Warder that act so saint that even Morrigan can't stand you, or a sinister, total badass that Alistair and Leliana will downright puke at you, or if you are good enough, can be a popular guy with everyone likes you (which is damn hard but not impossible). The game does have a downside, is that you can't just walk as freely open world as other RPG games. But consider that you don't have to do task that are so miserable in a open world RPG, Dragon Age: Origin focus on the the thing Bioware is very good at, making decision, taking quest, eploy tactics, and most importantly, kill as many enemies and level up.

i) Graphics = 8.8
The graphics in the PC version is considered to be the best compare to nealry all other PRG games, enviroment are well texture. Character is well design. Although the structure and amor are more suited to the medieval design compare to the extravaganzar other RPG game produced. Most of the leval are user freindly, as long as you got patch, the graphic performance will be significantly improved compare to the version 1.0. A lot of glitch was gradually reduced and many bugs were fixed. Giving the game major improvement and far less annoying bug that everyone actually complain of. Strange......

ii) Sound = 9.5
This is the selling point of Bioware famous for. There are hundreds of voice acting per Playable Character (Except for the main characrter,Shame). Each with own unique lines, tones, and expression. Other NPC also have their own lines, and some of them always tend to give clear explaination, repeating lines if you forgotten or don't mind listening again. They will react on the decision the player made, whether to praise you or to down right disguss your action. Like Alistair talk extremely rude to you if you are a total badass, or flirt and be very nice to you if you are good and romanctic with him.

iii) Storytelling = 9.5
Bioware 2nd selling point, and always the reason everybody love RPG. The story featured in Dragon Age: Origin is unique and yet familiar to those who read J.K Tolkien's tale, medieval myths and other good stories. Dragon Age Origin featured 3 origin, human, elf and dwarf, each has their own story to tell, whether a high born noble escaping from a fallen castle, to a casteless dwarf living in the slums trying to survive. After that, the story will give player the decision to go for which allies, side with the mage, purge the elfs or killing an innocent child for the sake of saving time and piss good people off. The character meter is quite unique, when a decision is made. Bad Character tend to prefer the bad ones, and good people, well......the good ones. And some decision you made will have a consequence to your final quest and epilouge, there are some side-quest that most people said is boring, but if you progress in the side quest may actaully reveal a more characters, hidden secrets, and sometimes, greater help to the Landsmeet and the final boss battle. With tons of good story in the game it will be ashame to just go fo the main quest and ignored the rest, not only making the game linear, but also give a lot of disadvantage when important events arise.

iv) Gameplay = 9.0
The PC version of the Dragon Age: Origin tends to be more simpler and far more user friendly. Buttons can be maunally set, rearrange for spells and skills. The difficulty on easy can be easy, but by no means a cake walk or push-over, and its challenging to those going for higher difficulty. The class sysetem will determine which attribute are more effective than other. Warriors are those that go straight into the fray. Rogue tends to go for bows and ambush. Magician.....well.......casting magics. The gameplay is easy to learn and yet tough to master. The tactics employ ny you may not be effective to that certain creatures compare to the others. And somethimes you will fall andtry again to figure out how the monster can be defeated. Fortunately, tha save system is very forgiving, as long as no battle or events is occur, you can save wherever you like. Which give you a precise checkpoint you desire. The looting system is somewhat simpler and the fighting sequence is not as impressive as hack and slash other games, (sometimes however, you will get an epic kill scene where you or your partner impale their blade sinking into the Archdemon's head). But none of these actually affects major goodness the gameplay of Dragon Age: Origin has to offer.

v) Price = 7.5
At RM 120.00(Malaysia Ringgit) (USD 30), this is by far the cheapest EA game ever to be in the shelf, I was even surprise that the game sell better than those big title board game. Bioware is a company well deserve to be a PC gaming friendly company. Offering reasonable price compare to other expensive big title. Trust me, the game is very worth it although the prize isn't as cheap as some other non-EA game.

vi) Bonus Point: Versitility +25%
Dragon Age: Origin engine are fame for its versitility. Since its release, the developers released a tool for player to make changes. Whether to create new weapons, new dungeons or villiage, new quest, (spoiler: and even one new Partner!!!). Though DLC offer much better experience in Dragon Age: Origin. The modding tools in Draaon Age: Origin quite an achievement. Certain website already offer tons of goodies for player to download mod without actually disturb the major gameplay. I can't tell you preciesly which website however, ut feel free to check online for such mod.

vii) Overall = 9.5
Its worth more than you think. If you love RPG and really want to enjoy major advantage of this game in the PC version, you gonna love this. As RPG developers tend to leave us PC gamers or publish downgraded MMORG games. Dragon Age: Origin may as well be the shining hope that RPG game will return its former glory to our beloved PC community. Worth it, get it!
