A good game, but WAY inferior to DA: Origins...

User Rating: 8.5 | Dragon Age II PC
Dragon Age II is a great role-playing but there are ALOT of new changes that actually hurt the game more then help it. I'm assuming you've played Dragon Age: Origins because I'm going to be doing alot of comparisons. Ok so one of the major issues I found was that all the armor that you buy at stores can only be equip by your main character.. now you have three other characters.. so what's up with that? Some people only use one weapon like the dude that shoots arrows.. his weapon get's stronger with lvl ups but it's the only weapon he get's.. what's up with that? Also when you talk to other characters and make choices it looks like a cheap rip off of Mass Effect.. what's up with that?! The game overall is more linear then Dragon Age: Origins. There's way less loot, equip, weapons and armor.. what's up with that?! HOWEVER now that I told you what I don't like.. this game is actually fun and worth playing if you can look past the shortcomings. The graphics are a huge improvement of Dragon Age: Origins. The storyline is branching and interesting all though not as interesting as Dragon Age: Origins (sorry). The combat is still fun this time you can choose to shut off auto-attack or not but basically its the same as before. I'm still playing this game and it is fun but just don't do what I did and play it directly after Origins.. you might be slightly disappointed. The only reason I gave this an 8.5 and not a 10 is because the game is relatively short compared to Origins. You had less dialogue between your companions than you did with your companions in Origins as well. You don't feel as involved as you did in Origins and the copy and pasted instances get generic and bland. The game feels pretty rushed throughout the game especially once you get to the end, it leaves you wondering what's next. This game would have easily gotten a 10 if it was longer and you could travel to more places than just a few outside of kirkwall.
