Classic basketball game

User Rating: 7.8 | Double Dribble NES
Double dribble is one of the very first sports game ever developed by Konami in the 80's. Before our beloved Pro Evolution ( Winning Eleven for the U.S), Konami was already into foreign sports.
I remember the day my brother brought home Double dribble along with another Konami action game, Russian attack, this latest seems to have vanished in the well of time. I used to like the intro of the game when a man's voice says out loud " Double dribble" and then went the U.S anthem.

Anyway, Double dribble was an accessible game, but the more level you go up to the more difficult it gets. The most difficult team was Boston, they were damn hard, I had a hard time completing the game.
One very noticeable feature about the gameplay is that every time you go for a dunk, you go into a kind of slow-motion highlighted in a big screen.

For the graphics, well all the players are faceless, alright it was the 80's, but even though....Besides that, there was nothing wrong with the frames.

The sound of throwing a three ball points will always resound in my memories and of course the pesky metallic noise of a missed dunk.

If you haven't played the game, you probably are out of luck or 19 years late.
