This game is passable for the Game Cube, but there are much better rhythm games out there. First, there are not that many songs to choose from. There are about twenty to thirty songs to select, and you may get bored pretty fast. In contrast DJ Hero 1 and 2 has a lot more tracks, and a greater variety of difficulty levels.

Second, the music choices aren't that great either. I know this game is supposed to have different genres for everyone, but some of the songs are way too similar to each other. For example, there are about two Spanish songs, and they could have picked different types of songs like maybe Japanese. Also, there are a lot of children's songs like Bingo and I've Been Working on the Railroad. There may be some Nintendo themed music like Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda, but there should have been more songs in that genre. Maybe they could of thrown in some hip-hop music to make it shine a little more (we have Donkey Konga 2 for that). Overall, they could have added some more music genres, so they won't sound way too similar. Most of the songs are basically oldies music with some children's and Nintendo themed songs. On the other hand, the sound effects are great, and there's a lot of variety of different effects.
Third, there are not that many modes to choose from. You can play some mini-games, but they will wear off pretty quickly. You can also play change the difficulty levels, but most of them aren't that challenging.

Fourth, your hands will start to sore out after a while. Sometimes the clapping noises from the bongos aren't responsive, and they can affect the game play sometimes. Most of the time they are responsive, and it can be fun to play for a little while.

Overall, this game is passable for multiplayer modes, but it's not that great of a music oriented game.

The good - bongos are mostly responsive, has some variety of difficulty, song, and mode selections, but not a lot

The bad - not enough song selection, some songs sound too similar to each other, your hands will sore out after a while

Presentation - 6 The idea of using bongos in a video game is a solid idea, but they could of made it shine a lot more.

Graphics - 7 The graphics are bright, colorful, and make you feel like you're at a party.

Sound - 6 Most of the songs are oldies music with some Nintendo and children's medleys. They could have done a much better job with the song choices.

Game play - 6.5 The controls are responsive most of the time, but the clapping noises are off sometimes. Also, your hands will eventually hurt after a while.

Lasting approval - 5 With only 20-30 songs, few modes, and no online mode, you will grow bored of it pretty easily.

Overall: 6.1 Game spot score: 6.0
