Even after all these years, DKC is still a (barrel) blast to play!

User Rating: 9.5 | Super Donkey Kong SNES
Donkey Kong Country was released a little over 15 years ago for the SNES and it was was fantastic then and is still great now. This game was huge for its time, it's graphics being groundbreaking back then and truth be told, this game is really nice looking with kind of a dark atmosphere with crocodile-like Kremlings always prepared to march up to you and take you down. The greatest thing about Donkey Kong Country though, is how memorable almost every aspect of it is. The music for one is the type of music that will literally be stuck in your head for days and it really helps with the vibe of the level, whether you're swinging through the jungle, dodging sharks in the sea, pulling an Indiana Jones in a mine cart, or barrel blasting your way through the sky. As you can see, this game is very diverse in what situations your may find yourself in while trying to get your bananas back and that's what makes this such a great platformer; there's always something new and fun just around the corner. Donkey Kong Country is a game that really stands out in the platforming genre and is one of those games that'll never get old no matter it's age. Donkey Kong Country is a much own so if you have a Wii, download for your virtual console ASAP. You won't regret it, this game truly is something your won't want to miss out on.
