This game somehow manages to be a classic and still be underrated.

I don't think people realize how great this game really was and still is. It's not that they haven't played it, we all loved this game. It's just that I don't think most people can really see how genius the level design was along with the most atmospheric soundtrack of any video game to date.

As you probably know Donkey Kong Country is a platformer similar to mario. However, the controls are much smoother. Have you ever lost lives in mario because you landed at an awkward position against an enemy? You will not have that problem. You can simply roll if you land in an awkward position and the controls are incredibly responsive to where you want to land your jumps. The graphics are beautiful and definitely add to the immersion of the level design. It's not that it's unlike other platformer games. It's just that it does everything right.

The music for this game is worthy of a paragraph in itself. People don't remember how interesting and varied these tracks really were. I don't think most people listen to video game music anyway but these songs were just incredibly unique. Some of them are just so good that it's near impossible not to be reminded of memories as you are taken in by the complex sounds. I'll just say that I've played thousands of games and it's the best soundtrack I have heard. Fortunately, Donkey Kong Country 2-3 also had an amazing soundtrack but I think this one has a bit more depth.

The difficulty for this game was as fair as any game I have ever played. We all get mad when we lose lives but I couldn't really call bs legitimately against anything. It actually starts very easy and makes you think it's gonna go smooth but that's actually a running gag in this game. This game will tilt back and forth between difficulty and you will get frustrated on certain levels. It's not really a bad thing either because it works. Sometimes this game will really draw on your reactive emotions and it's fun to be so drawn into every vital move as I try to finally get the level over with.

This is an incredible 3D adventure in the kingdom of Kong. It's a timeless classic that deserves a little bit more respect. I would recommend every person to play this game regardless of who they are.
