Donkey Kong's debute as a hero, as well as Diddy's.

User Rating: 10 | Super Donkey Kong SNES
This game is awesome! Not only did it give Nintendo a boost, but it gave Donkey Kong a new place in the video game hall of fame.

As it goes, this game has the looks of a 3D / 2D side-scroller. And it is. In fact, it was one of the first games to posses some very attractive graphics for a 16-bit console.

The adventure goes thus:
Donkey Kong wakes up one morning to find his stash of Golden Bananas stolen. Footprints of kremlings litter the soft earth, setting the great ape off on a trail of floor pounding, vine swinging, rhino rampaging adventures. Diddy, a new and likeable addition to the Kongo Jungle, helps his pal Donkey recover the bananas from the crocodilian foe, K.Rool, the one with the crown and red cape who runs a pirate ship.

There are various levels on the island map, which are all fun to run through. Animal buddies abound, which help your character reach secret levels and complete a course without much effort. There is plenty of barrel blasting going on, and the levels make you want to go through them again and again, because they are so colorful and fun to look at.

In the end, then, this game rocks! You'll want to pound your chest and eat bananas after playing this. Also, there are 4 versions of this game. They are:

DK Country - SNES
DK Land - GB
DK Country - GBC
DK Country - GBA

Personally, I think the SNES version is the best. The GBA title is the best portable version of the other Game Boy games, but the most fluid one is for the SNES. So get either version. Heck, get both the SNES and GBA games. They are games you will not want to miss out on! Thank you Nintendo!
