This game has some very hard levels... enough to make you cringe.

Well, I was wrong to think that this version would be any easier. Again, like the first DKC game, this second installment has some changes that are different from the original SNES version. But, there are plenty of surprises and challenges to keep you moving onward.

Diddy and his girl Dixie gotta save Donkey from K. Rool's clutches on a pirate infested island. The levels are creative and fresh enough to make it stand out from its predecessor, like the ship areas and the lava areas. Like it says up top, this game is really hard to play. You may just find yourself boiling in disgust at some of the levels you are faced with. Just keep playing though, and you'll beat it with enough patience and willingness.

The graphics are great. The addition of a new Kong is nice, but I'd still have preferred Donkey as a playable character, just cause he's a heavy character, whereas Diddy and Dixie are both light characters. Whatever.

The toughest level is the boss battle with K. Rool. He shoots cannons at you with his musket and you gotta dodge them, grab the cannon ball that falls on the floor, and then throw it back at him. It took me multiple times to finally beat him. Ugh, what a pain!

So unless you're a die-hard DKC fan, then yes, please get this. I would honestly recommend the SNES version, though for originality's sake.
