A great sequel to the greatest game ever!

User Rating: 10 | Super Donkey Kong 2: Dixie & Diddy SNES
Donkey Kong Country introduced a revolutionary art and playing style of platforming and you would believe that the sequel would be a joke. Well in this case you could be wrong. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest makes a great sequel, as it not only contains the same fun as the game before but offers a lot more.

Story: Sometime has passed since Donkey Kong defeated King.K.Rool. King.K.Rool wants to exact revenge on DK and his friends and take over DK island, using his new pirate fleet kremlins. King.K.Rool successfully abducted DK and now that no one can stand in his way he will surely conquer DK Island in no time. Now it’s up to Diddy Kong and his girlfriend Dixie Kong to go to Kremlin Island and rescue DK.

Game design: Now the theme is more pirates like and the game’s tone is also a bit darker than it used to be. You will be venturing through Kremlin Island and just like before you will be going through different sections of which each has around 5 to 6 stages with a boss in the end. There is also a secret root that could take you to an alternate ending, by collecting Kremlin coins you can access secret areas. There are also mini games added which provides you with extra fun.
Character animation has also improved a bit and there is a bit more interactions between characters this time. Characters from the previous game like Crancky Kong and Funky Kong are back with new characters added. Just like the previous game these kongs can help you in many ways. Game play: You will be playing as Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong and together will be doing a lot of swinging and pirate kicking! Diddy Kong is fairly standard while Dixie Kong has the ability to hover in the air. You can team tag and this time you can also cooperate. A Kong can stand on another and can be thrown, this technique is useful for getting enemies at a distance or reaching heights that cannot be reached. The animal buddies are also back, while there are some from the previous game there are also new ones with their own special abilities. Sound: The music is as good as ever. This time the music tone is more of a pirate theme with other dark tones, providing a lively environment for the game. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest uses the same formula as the previous game but adds a little more to it. This game is personally my favorite of the Donkey Kong series and still is. You will find lots of fun swinging and jumping actions here just as much as in the previous game.
