DJ Hero 2

Music not as good as DJ Hero.

I'm puzzled that reviewers like the music in this game better than original. The music in DJ Hero 2 isn't bad, but it seems far more generic and far less interesting than DJ Hero. One nice thing about the original game was the mixing of music across decades and genres. The new setlist seems much more homogenous and conservative. The most appealing thing to me about mixes is the way very different songs can speak to each other. The songs in DJ Hero 2 don't do this as much as in the original.

That aside the game is fun. I'm a big fan of the first game and am very pleased to have more content to play through. Hopefully the music will grow on me.

The new freestyling system is a wash with the original but the multiplayer is much more robust.

I hope the game is supported with DLC and that the franchise continues.
