TRON: Evolution manages to rise above the mediocrity of movie tie-ins and is a fun, if repetitive, diversion.

User Rating: 7.5 | Disney's TRON: Evolution PS3
STORY: 7.5/10
TRON: Evolution takes place a few years before the start of the movie it's tied to. You play as Anon, an unknown, and unnamed system monitor programmed by Kevin Flynn and aided by Tron himself. The game itself lasts roughly around 8 to 10 hours and has an original storyline.

GAMEPLAY: 7.5/10
The gameplay though simple, can be very enjoyable, especially with the right upgrades. You earn upgrades by earning and spending EXP points you get from killing enemies. For the platforming segments, it's essentially exactly like the latest Prince of Persia entry, with you dying and learning from your mistakes and calculating a new route. Unfortunately, some routes are ridiculous and cause a fair amount of annoying repeating and backtracking. All in all, the gameplay is enjoyable, even with a few, but integral flaws.

GRAPHICS: 7.0/10
T:E manages to provide some very very shiny, and pretty graphics. And for the majority of the game, they're nice to look at. Unfortunately, most cutscenes are pre-rendered, but hold no candle to the actual talent they're based on. Take for example, the poorly executed model of Quorra (Played by the incredibly beautiful Olivia Wilde). It doesn't manage to hold a candle to the real life Olivia Wilde. Overall, the graphics are interesting and more-or-less work well.
