In the end, PK is just another bad licensed game at the bottom of the barrel.

User Rating: 4 | Disney's Donald Duck: PK PS2
The world is in peril once peril once more! An evil and diabolical alien race has come to earth to destroy us all! Who should we get to save our sorry hides? Not Superman. Not the Hulk. Not even Iron Man. But none other than a cartoon duck wearing a sailor outfit.......................OF COURSE!
After " Donald Duck: Goin' Quakers" in 2000, Donald Duck eventually made it into another game. Ultimately the next game he is featured in puts him in the role of a superhero named PK. It's pretty much your standard super hero based game: You are an average, everyday person who is somehow the chosen one to stop an evil alien race and is magically given a super powers. As cliche and over-used that plot is it actually isn't the worst part of the game. For there are plenty of other annoyances to be hold in this fail of a game.

The game is set as a third-person shooter. Your objective for each stage is rather simple: Rescue enough scientists and destroy enemies. Along the way you'll collect tokens and upgrades. Unfortunately, since this is all you will be doing throughout the entire game it will get rather repetitive. It doesn't help that the game is rather easy and short to beat. The game's controls are similar to that of other shooters so the scheme itself is easy to learn. The game has automatic targeting, but that tends to get in the way. The targeting will more often than not lock on to something you're not trying to aim at. The game's camera is also a pain to deal with since it likes to angle in the most awkward of spots and you pretty much have no control over it.

The levels themselves are rather bland repetitive, and rather poor in design. It's a shame since the games cell shaded art style looks rather decent despite how uninspired it looks. The music is filled with repeating generic techno music that can get on your nerves after a while. The voice acting also isn't that great. Donald's new "heroic" voice is just annoying and makes you wish they kept his older voice.

PROS:
-Cell-shaded graphics are very cartoonish

CONS:
-Donald should have kept his old voice
-Most environments are bland
-Game is short
-Story is over-used
-Annoying techno music loops constantly
-Targeting is sporadic
-Camera leads to awkward angles

Basically, it just feels rushed.Sadly, this is nothing more than another game lost in the endless world of license mediocrity. My advice: Read a comic book or watch Donald Duck cartoons.
