Though the game has the right intentions, it would at first might seem to be good, almost, but not quite.

• Story: 3/10
o Goof Troop's storyline is almost as bad as any other Capcom made original Disney game. You play as either Goofy or his son Max and are at a vacation on a Island and you need to rescue Pete and his son from a group of pirates who have kidnapped them. Nowhere in the game does it explain to you how they got caught or any emphasis on the enemy or the characters, though there are a few cutscenes not much noticeable but they do mention tidbits about the storyline though mostly there for humorous discussions about anything but the game's initial storyline.

• Characters: 5/10
o The character designs are horribly lazy in design, for one thing Goofy and Max are pretty much the only original looking characters but that isnt saying much considering the fact that there are multiple pallets of the same enemy character, its like sometimes you are fighting the same enemy but with different colors. There are about 5-6 different type of enemy characters excluding the 5 bosses who have their own gameplay and pattern.

• GamePlay: 9/10
o Possibly the only GOOD thing about the game and the fact that it might make several people wanting to play it again and again. The game includes Zelda like view with zelda like puzzles, some of the aspects of the game will remind you of the typical Zelda game from the SNES era, it shouldnt surprise you considering the same team who made this game must of made the GBC Zelda oracle games. You have to go through several puzzles which in my opinion is the main point of the game before you can progress through the stages. You have the initial objects and enemies blocking your path, your only choices are either destroying them or moving them out of the way. You will also encounter a boss at the end of every battle, you will also have access to several tools which you can use to get through different puzzles and areas. Utilizing the tools is a whole different issue as some of them just seem a bit clunky in terms of controls, sometimes such as the hook shot , you have to press the action button completely to actually use it, if you nod it a bit , it wont be as effective. You can also pick up barrels, rocks and other throw able materials in the stages, sometimes they wont even damage a enemy if the enemy is doing a attack.

• Graphics: 6/10
o Capcom has been generally lazy with the SNES generation when it comes to graphics. Goof Troop despite its colorful appearance lacks the appeal that other SNES games such as Chrono Trigger, Yoshi's Island and Terranigma contain.

• Sound: 7/10
o Most of the sound effects you will hear in this game are sound effects which are recycled from other Capcom games such as Megaman X, Street Fighter, Breath of Fire and Ghosts N Goblins. Regardless of that the Capcom Sound Team surely outdone themselves in this particular generation.

• Music: 3/10
o The music in Goof Troop is so stale that you probably wouldnt even notice the music playing in the background, pretty much all of the tracks are either the same or they are the same, you wouldnt be able to tell or even care for it.

• Length: 5/10
o Capcom's games arent famous for its length, this game is no exception, Goof Troop only consists of 5 stages with 5 boss battles, and it should not take you no more than 3 hours to finish this game unless you are stuck at a certain puzzle within a stage.

• Replay Value: 5/10
o Only replay value that this game contains would probably be the multiplayer, but other than there isnt much to get out of it, since you'll be playing the same game as a single player, just with two characters with 1 slot each rather than 1 character with 2 slots. Although the multiplayer is the fact that this game received this high of Replay Value in the first place.

• Player Value: 7/10
o If you are a fan of Disney, Capcom, and Puzzle games, you will want to get this. If possible a rental would be wise as you probably wouldnt be playing this game as much as it is short and sweet in terms of gameplay. Regardless of the horrid music, bland graphics and short time frame, the game will still give you a nostalgic feel to its sound effects and incredible gameplay. You will surely play this game for its gameplay and nothing else.
