A good driving game that is quite challenging at times

Cars for the Wii is more 'The Simpsons: Road Rage' than 'GTA' but I'm alright with that. My four year old son and I both enjoy driving Lightning McQueen around the fairly large world and, frankly, probably spend more time doing that looking for bonus points, doing tricks (like trying to make Lightning flip over!), and getting to places on the map we didn't think we could reach.

The races and minigames are fun themselves, if rather simplistic. The controls are fairly striaght forward, so the key to winning most races is finding the shortcuts--which can be frustrating for younger players like my son. The mingames, too, are sometimes too difficult. For instance, you sometimes have to pit during a race and twist, wave, and gyrate the Wii-mote to perform the various pitstop tasks. Because this doesn't happen very often, there aren't many chances to practice.

I usually avoid games that are movie tie-ins. In this case, though, the production quality of the game is very high and does justice to its characters. The voice acting is solid, the graphics are good, and there is enough variety to keep you dipping in again and again.
