A strategy RPG that strongly encourages you to get hopelessly addicted to leveling up your characters, an awesome game!!

User Rating: 9.1 | Makai Senki Disgaea PS2
This game is a very mixed bag. This is a grid based strategy RPG, with all that that entails. The graphics are just barely passed the bar set by Final Fantasy Tactics, a game that Disgaea is a lot like. The sound effects are rather repetitive, the voice acting isn't always that great, and the music gets a little repetitive after playing for over 60 hours. This will also be a tough game to get into if you aren't used to strategy RPGs or aren't a good strategic thinker.

If you can get past this gripes, you've got an amazing game here. There is a huge amount of extra content in this, one of the very few games I've ever seen that could actually get hundreds of hours of play time. This game is designed to be Diablo level addictive, and you can level party members up into the hundreds, boost their stats into the thousands, and create dozens of different character types. You can even level up equipment by entering an item world of randomized dungeons. The depth here is staggering.

More than just tons of content that you don't want, this game is a lot of fun. There is a lot of strategy here, and you will rarely need to level to handle each challenge as it comes along. The storyline was only mediocre, but I really enjoyed all this game had to offer. If you liked FF Tactics even a little, you need to play this game. It is one of the best, if not the best, of its type ever.
