Disgaea's back, and with a rare improvement over the orginal (mostley)

User Rating: 9 | Makai Senki Disgaea 2 PS2
disgaea 2 is of course the realtive of the first disgaea game that empthosed great gameplay and an unlimited leveling character system while some heavy tactics, this sequal however may play generaly the same idea but seems to be a near all around improvement making disgaea 2, probaly the most legendary tactic rpg for the ps2,

Storyline 9/10 hmm,

like in disgaea one, expect random out events in this hell like world, i have to admit however the storyline did lose its homour a bit over the first but the actuall storyline itself is just or near good as the first, you play as Adell a sort of brawler and cool guy, aparently Zenon an overlord of this realm is turning humans into Demons (not fully or complety) and Adell here decides he wants to stop him along with a girl gun weilder Rozalin who was accidently summoned very early in the game, you travel from stage to stage making your way doing random but seemingly logical events that will come in your way, therefor making this storyline sort of decent since its unperdictible and not a save the world really plot,

Gameplay 10/10 debatable to others,

this...seems really suggestive....to others im sure they would complain the its the same thing, but seriously, what can you really expect? anyway, the gameplay to me is great, the tactics base's in this game gives you alot of freedom, whenever it is moving, using a weapon you want, throwing, etc, theres alot in this game when it comes to tactics and actually be using them in use, the storyline which would roughly take you through lvl 1-100 like any standerd rpg will defently make you pull out tactics struggling to the last char if you hadvent grinded to much, it might lose value when you play out of thes torylnie and go flying through character lvls such as 9999 but it will still generaly hold some of the tactics value even passed this point, with so many hours of gameplay availible to you and to test your higher over leveled chars with insane side boss's, with all that said with so much freedom and limitless potential along with decent to great battle attack system the gameplay in my eyes is near perfect as it should be, and it does improve over disgaea 1 by being able to skip attack animations to make grinding about 2-3x faster,

Graphics 8/10 it all cant be perfect

yeah, any NIS america player should know that they sacrifice graphics for gameplay in there games they localized and mostly all the games consist of 2D, and in this case its really no diffrent, however i must say this is a general graphics improvement over disgaea 1, not by the extream but a nice amonut to consider its better, and...about 45% moves or more have been reused however sharpened out with new detail,

Music 9/10 generaly great

it may not be perfect, but all of the music peices are nice to listen to and the ones that arent are usually the epic reaching level one's usually consisting of techno or rock, i think there are really only a few failing music peices but the rest is enough to overshallow it to give it a high rating, the sound in the game such as attack or voice acting are also done fairly well too,

Replay Value 10/10 legendary

ok, maybe not in the sense of replaying the actuall game itself again through the storyline, but the amount of extras and you can do are quite a handfull to test your characters to the limit nearly no matter what level you ever get them which can easily defeat your time spent over 100 hours by just using the item world system itself alone as well as a New game+ if you so desire and collecting some specil guest characters through out the game, makes every dollar you threw in this worth it

Final word's... this is the best tactic rpg game i ever played for the ps2 and that was actually worth my money thanks to the 100+ extras, if you love rpgs, there really is no reason why you dont have this in your collection, and if you to have alot of freedom in your tactic games, this should not be ignored,
